Yep… keep calm and carry on … and the phrase you were thinking of “ no such thing as bad weather…. Just the wrong clothes”

Rain is the price we pay for having water to drink and green countryside to walk in.  We live with it because we need it, and honestly I love rainy days.

The thing about the British rain is that there’s no day, no month, no time of year when you can reasonably expect it not to rain.
There’s no point saying we’ll wait and do that in, say, August, because literally August might be lovely or it might be chilly and rainy. The same with every other month

My best friend is going slightly deaf and he tends to speak loudly sometimes when we are out. All I need to say is "Oi, Yank" and he knows exactly what's wrong and lowers the volume.

Wow 35 degrees is really hot. But I do agree that dry heat is easier to cope with.

My parents wear waterproof trousers and coat in winter. Because it rains here so much. And they are both in their late 70s so they have to look after themselves

Yes whatever the weather throws our way, we just keep calm and carry on... Otherwise we'd never get anything done especially with the awful weather we had here earlier in the year

Having been to CA in the full summer heatwave and lived in the UK all my life, British heat hits different. There is no air, it’s muggy and uncomfortable and our houses are like literal saunas (no AC). Check out Kalani’s videos on uk hot weather - he’s from Tennessee and even he complained about the heat here in the UK!

I kind of really like the difference of my San Diego buddies. I’m from London & their sunny disposition is really appreciated.

The best bit about British weather is that you really appreciate the different seasons. My favourite is Autumn but I Do love a summer evening as the sun cools and the birds start chirping. We often go to a stately park (in my case Osbourne House as I live on the Isle of Wight) where they put on classical concerts (or sometimes show classic films). We take chairs or blankets and have picnics on the grass, people take champagne or a bottle of plonk, depends on your budget, and we sit and have a lovely couple of hours making our way home in the dusky starlight. Very British. 😊👍🇬🇧

It’s true about the British carrying on regardless of the weather. Years ago my family went to LA for a holiday. We must have picked the one year California had bad weather and the day we went to Disneyland it was practically monsoon weather- the palm trees were bowed down in the wind and rain. Yet we unpacked our plastic macs and off we went. It was great- no queues for anything!!! I think there were about 20 people there (probably other Brits)!!

Oh I love a Christmas market, Glühwein (mulled wine) as we go from stall to stall trying festive foods from around Europe, buying traditional decorations etc, cant wait 😝
