I’m glad it’s not just me. Everything is an ad and I’m so SICK of it. Like, I can’t even pump gas without an ad playing on the little screen. If I buy something at a store in person, the person who works there is required to ask me to sign up for something. If I try and watch a video, there are at least 6 ads. Social media isn’t showing me updates from my friends, it’s showing me whoever is paying to have their account advertised. I’m exhausted and I don’t want any of these things!! It’s been enough to make me stop using social media almost entirely. It’s too enshittified to function properly, it’s just exhausting.

My husband thinks I’m insane for wanting to cancel subscriptions and start buying physical media LOL. I miss the days of owning movies, music and other forms of media.

i deleted social media 4 months ago. i HIGHLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY recommend. i hope this isnt just a trend and that people actually realize how valuable being offline is. you get your life back, feel more at peace, focus on your hobbies + goals and sleep way better haha.

Tip: Get yourself a DVD player. DVDs are DIRT CHEAP at the moment, and you can build a library of classics for next to nothing. Especially if you're a parent, because you know many of those Disney and Ghibli movies are timeless.

8:30 I don't even see my friends' content when I scroll Facebook or Instagram anymore. It's all ads, influencers, and "funny" pages.

I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to ORGANICALLY meet someone you haven’t seen in a while nor have they seen you online to know what has happened in your life! It’s a huge flex. Gives you the opportunity to catch them up on things.

I’m old as hell, and I’m grateful to see the young folks embracing life as it was before social media. Although it’s damn near impossible to stay offline, it’s very powerful for our mental health to figure out how to swing it.

I’ve been offline since late 2020, it clicked to me how pointless it is to be there?! I was going places and traveling countries without any need to post or share anything. I hope people actually wake up! Everything became an ad there… don’t give away your attention, don’t follow trends; Free yourself!

My fake ass used to want to be a mysterious person online. I tryna be vague all the time. And then I realised, why do I wanna create mysterious persona online when I can be offline as nobody... That epiphany really blows my mind 💀 Literally, I'm so tired building this enigma personality when I can just be offline lmfao. How counterintuitive is that. As someone who value privacy so much, being online is definitely not it. This online personality was influenced by many people I follow online. Mind you this was 10-12 years ago. I'm glad I break the cycle 😅

Everybody is addicted, and when people go out from the addiction and do the normal things (go outside, mind your own business, etc) they feel like they discovered something awesome, when it's basically what you are supposed to do
