I had a friend from Australia, and he told me the saying about Australian Football or Rugby and they say, "Rugby Players eat their dead." Pretty much sums this sport up!

The Rugby Scrum Caps that some players wear, are mainly for protecting their ears from cuts and abrasions. And to help prevent "Cauliflower Ear" which disrupts blood flow to the ear cartilage, leading to fibrosis and cartilage death Biss.

You understand and explain the game much better than Americans do and you have passion. Good job

Just two names: Jonah Lomu & Sébastien Chabal (known as the Caveman)

When you pass to someone who is a perfect target for a tackle, usually distracting them so they can't even dodge, it's called a hospital pass. Because you're likely to end up in hospital when they hit you.

Talking about the release of adrenaline when you're on a sports field. I suggest you take a look at some of the videos of the New Zealand team performing the Haka before their matches.

I grew up playing Football, Rugby and Cricket here in England and I loved all 3 of them. As I became an adult though, Rugby LITERALLY hit different! I left school at 16, joined the RAF and only played Football during my training phase. Then when I was 19 I think, I got asked to play for my base in a Rugby match against a nearby Army base... that was the last Rugby game I played because that Army team had 6 Fijiians on it, and being tackled by those guys was like being hit by a fucking 18 Wheel Truck! I swear their legs were almost as wide as my shoulders, it was ridiculous. Absolutely lovely guys though, had a few drinks with them afterwards, top lads, but just built different, hit different, it was wild!

The 'helmet' is called a scrum cap. It's to protect the ears when people clash heads in the scrum

They were the head protectors to keep their ears from being ripped off.

Infamous slogan-Give blood, Play Rugby.

Much love from new Zealand women's rugby is the best 😎

3:59 the headwear is sort of padded, but they’re more to stop your ears getting ripped off than for head injuries. You tend to see forwards (usually the bigger players, wearing numbers 1-8) wearing them as they tend to have their heads in more dangerous areas, but there’s been a handful of notable backs (smaller faster players, wearing 9-15) that wear them too

Brutal was the word you were looking for

Love watching your reactions BissQT - you're entertaining and your "knowledge" of contact sport is spot on - you're explanation of the adrenaline "rush" was pretty dam'n good

Romania actually has a long rugby history. They've had some decent national teams over the years.

@PjRjHj 3 months ago (edited)

Romania used to be a solid up and coming nation in Rugby Union from the 70s - 90s. Sadly they have fallen away a bit in the second tier of nations. Romania needed much more support from World Rugby

Here's an idea - watch Blood of Heroes with Rutger Hauer, also known as Salute of the Jugger. A cult classic that spawned the sport of Jugger, played with LARP weapons.
