Sitting here nursing my cracked rib while watching this video. I'm 40 years old but can't give the sport up. It's not just about the game. the team becomes another family.

Btw you have a Polish national team that play in the european cup every year. I always shout for them cause my wife is polish. I watched one of the the 2023 Rugby World cup matches in Poland with my brother in law. Was his first time watching a match and he really enjoyed it.

what happened to you guys? hope its okay.

At 13:20 is Sebastien Chabal, a french player. He recently said that he dont remember his playing career, took so much hit to the head

And yet it's one of the ball sports with the fewest injuries that prevent you from playing

CTE brain trauma is a huge concern for all the collision sports. Ever soccer players have developed it because of head butting the ball.
Rugby Union, Rugby League, Australian Football, Canadian Football, American Football all have ex-players with CTE.
Many can't remember a second of their playing careers, many have "un-alived" themselves. It's a tragedy

watching this after coming back from Rugby training just hits different, surprisingly rugby can be a long term sport all the way from early childhood to when your nearly retired and can no longer run. The main health problem is head concussions can lead to long term damage otherwise you make break a shoulder bone or hamstring muscles . Rugby of course is more global and most countries have a team but only 24 usually the dominant rugby countries make the world cup. And of course if you have the ball you can palm off the person about to tackle you , but the tackler has tackle them but has to be low and not too high
edit: some of the rugby players have headgear on their heads, its literally a soft padding that is flexible with a chinstrip as you can't have anything hard in rugby, but headgear really doesn't protect you from concussions its more likely to protect from cuts in the head, abrasions and cauliflower ear, the only thing you have to wear is, mouthguards

i wanted to say you missed one of Napoleons videos of epic history. he uploaded it while you were doing your reactions. Its his return from Elba. But i see the channel is inactive.. hope that if you return you will react to that too!

dont know if anyone still said it but a match is 40 min per side. the helmed you see is not with foam in it its a scrum cap. made of meterial to protect your ears while scruming.

we have players that started in primary school, and still play in their 30's

hope you guys are doing well

Many of the professional Rugby clubs also provide additional career training to the players, so that they have qualifications and a job after they end their carreer at the club. It's common practice for the clubs that can afford it, they really do try to look after the players.

Hope you are both ok it’s been awhile

So, the video is mainly Rugby Union with a bit of Rugby League thrown in. Both codes have some very big hits though.

There should be a very physical game to watch tomorrow.
South Africa (springboks) and the current world champions are playing Wales.
These games are always extremely physical

In Europe where it is played at the highest level (Great Britain and France) it is the private schools and upperclass that play rugby, in the most part. The old saying is: football is a Gentleman sport played by hooligans. Rugby is a hooligan sport played by Gentleman.

Yeah buddy.... keep up with the rugby bro... As a 50 year old in South Africa... its amazing to see how a sport can destroy all Predigest issues... from Race to size to culture ( even Womans Rugby )... im proud to be a South African ... not only are we amazing in Rugby but several international sports... from Boxing to athletics as well as the World Strongest Man ( also a former Rugby Player )... also Elon Musk etc etc... South Africa has been through the shit... and we are now one of the Greatest countries in the world, even though we on a 45% unemployment rate.Proudly South African

I hope all is well with you guys
