Just 2min. into the video and I'm already exited.
- 5k beats 7k any day of the week because then you can shoot 16-bit raw on almost every project (the true win). I love my C400/C50 raw, but the file sizes are massive, so only using it on the feature film.
- IBIS (where the C50 failed)
- TIMECODE (where the R6V, S1 II failed)
- 16-bit raw (where everyone failed)
- E MOUNT (love me some Zeiss and Sigma)
- XLR, EVF, expandability...
There are just so many touches that I think are more groundbreaking than people are giving it credit for. In short, the FX5 looks like a camera for working DPs, feature docs, doc-series, and Venice/Burano workflow - NOT day-to-day social media/youtube/instagram content creators- the FX3 (or S1 II or R6V) work just as well for that.
It feels like the first small camera made for FILMMAKERS. C70 was close, but not small/light enough to fit into this segment.
Okay, I'm gonna need to test it now.
