Hello! Today we are  sorting out my new sewing area, answering your questions and having chats about the move! I hope you enjoy! Consider purchasing me a kofi (tip) https://www.ko-fi.com/penguinandpear 💖

When I retired as an IT manager, I downsized from a 2500 square foot house down to a two bedroom apartment.  Luckily there is a huge lounge(living room) where I have 4 sergers, 1 coverstitch, 2 embroidery and 4 Bernina sewing machines set up for my non-profit sewing studio.   I only do one-on-one or mother/daughter/son classes.  I am hoping to go into business with my grand daughter and do sewing birthday parties/gatherings using 2 Singer 99Ks, 2 Featherweights, and 2 Singer 301A's.  I think the kids will like the vintage machines and they are easy to put on finger guards.  We will just make fleece hats or earbud cases for the group classes.  You have really inspired me in both sewing and getting healthy.  I am down from 200lbs to 140lbs.

It’s so kind of Frederick to allow you to set up your sewing space in his bedroom.

Wonderful news about your move, 3 days to recover is pretty good for your body, I  think. Wow.

Yes Claire!! Whatever you think you want to do you go for it and share it. I do multiple craft things, truth - most of us do, I love seeing what others are getting up to!!

Yes …..to crochet or knitting, soap or crafts. Also dead right…..I am nosy and love seeing other people’s supplies😊❤️

Soo happy for your new start Claire☺️.  You appear at peace and in a good frame of mind.  Promise us that you continue to pace yourself,  one day at a time.  🥰

I’m so pleased that you feel sooooo happy Clare….im so looking forward to seeing you back into sewing mode….❤😊

Oh, sweet Claire!  Excellent video!  Loved it.  Am so glad that the move to your new home went drama-free with the exception of Fred missing in action.  Happy ending all the way around.  Fred is safe, your home has  positive vibes, your bedroom is huge, the natural light is beautiful, and you are happy.  Your well-being is the most important thing.  I understand completely why you don't want to show the entire world the layout of your home.  I will definitely watch whatever you feel like filming . . . decorating, organizing, cleaning, a walk around the neighborhood, carnivore -- it doesn't matter.  Sure is good seeing you so happy.  Btw, you're still shrinking.  Bye for now, love.

It’s lovely to see you so happy and positive. I have watched you for a long time but never commented but will be happy to watch whatever you post. Stay happy and content and enjoy your new home. Love Marie xx

Congratulations on the big move. You are looking really terrific and healthy . So good to see you happy.  Decluttering is so carthartic, especially sewing stuff. Keep up the good work.

I am interested in any content that's crafty. I sew, knit, crochet, make soap and even trying my hand at macrame and hand and machine embroidery. I  can't imagine anyone who loves sewing content not being interested in other crafty content!

Claire, your new home is beautiful, so warm and inviting! I have to tell you one of my favorite sewing tools is my Tailors Ham, I learned to make from one of your older videos! I made a Ham and a Sausage, they both turned out brilliant, because of you. I love to watch sewing, crafting and the way people set up their sewing/crafting areas.

Looks like you really have a nice place. I love size of the bedroom. I wouldn’t bother with pattern drafting. There are so many places that sale slopers made to your personal measurements. Just be sure to add ease when you order. Seam allowance is optional.  Just give yourself a little extra seam allowance so you can adjust sizes as needed. I don’t do a lot of hand sewing but there are times I do. I got this thing from clover I think it’s called a threaded needle case. You thread your sewing needle stick in a slot wrap the thread on this thing on the bottom. You then wind it and it winds thread up inside of it. You can put into 10 threaded needles. Great for keeping them organized and great for travel.  A lady by name of Laura talked about it on YouTube. My other favorite gadget is my hem guide which holds my fabric in place, works as a seam guide, and also allows me where I want to hem something on back and then flip it over and can hem on front where it stitches better. Jenifer Sterns does cool tools usually on Mondays. Also what can I say you really look quite nice with the weight loss. We can’t wait to see your new makes.

Yes, let’s get started!

Claire, I'm so happy for you and congratulations on your new place. You have a great place for sewing with a lot of natural light. You look so relaxed, happy and beautiful. Just whatever you want to post I will watch for I enjoy your videos. An idea for some of your oversized clothes can be cut up and make shirts, shortes or a skirt. Hope you have an awesome day.

I really like the size of your bedroom and that ceiling adds so much character! Congratulations on your new home.

Hello..you are looking sew much better, and happy...glad you are feeling great. Enjoy your sewing space , it will come together over time and keep evolving and change . I m looking forward to seeing your new makes.

Happy for you to share soaps and knitting/crotchet. Sewing is a craft just like many other things and as a sewist most of us will enjoy other crafty videos thrown in. 💕 A lot of dresses etc still look great once you lose more weight. But I guess you are coming into Winter there now so you cold make dresses and cardigans that you can wear with tights and boots.
