Because Kansas is an English pronunciation of a Native Tribe called Kanaza.
Arkansas is a French interpretation of the Quapaw Tribe.

First "hoyevver" drops at 1:02. In accordance with prophecy.

Ah, yes, our old favorite cult classic: The Toyn That Dreaded Sundoyn.

I love how this movie is shot, it at times doesn't look like a film with a camera crew but more like you're just a bloke filming the beautiful scenery and just so happen to get a shot of Bigfoot's Arkansan cousin.

DUDE! A Boggy Creek review and not even a mention of that gloriously depressing song as the credits roll?!?

That "So I am confusion" meme always pops in my head the second I even just think about Arkansas

Pierce went on to make "Legend of Boggy Creek 2: and the legend continues" which was actually the third boggy Creek film. Apparently the original part 2 was so dull everyone forgot it even existed. He then went on to write scripts for Miami Vice!

Boggy creek actually freaks me out in that way you can only get freaked out living out in the middle of nowhere.

My dad saw this in theaters when he was a kid and had to walk all the way home in near complete darkness afterwards. Scared the crap out of him, but he loves this movie

The iconic Boggy Creek poster was made by Ralph McQuarrie, the main concept artist for the original Star Wars trilogy. I’m pretty sure this poster is McQuarrie’s first piece of work relating to film.

There is a movie called "Abominable" starring an older Matt McCoy that is really good. It's a bit like "Rear Window" but the killer is possibly the scariest portrayal of Sasquatch / Big Foot.

Issues with accuracy aside, Boggy Creek does a good job of just capturing how empty rural America can feel if you aren't familiar with the area.

I grew up in a marsh, so I don't usually feel uncomfortable in marshes or swamps. But if I don't know the area? There's always a little warning chirping in the back of my mind

Hey I live near there and can say I haven't seen any monsters but can say I have seen weird things in the sky

I’m honestly a little mad Hollywood doesn’t make more movies based on Cryptids/Mythical Monsters. Imagine a Jersey Devil or Chupacabra movie done in a completely serious tone and atmosphere.

My estranged sibling talked about seeing parts of this movie at an Aunt's house when we were kids, this is one heck of a memory that I didn't think would get dusted off this year.
