Post BuzzFeed Adam Ellis always feels like a jumpscare. I remember back in the 2010s when he still worked for them, it became a meme how repetitive the assets he used were. He left and immediately ascended as an artist, making incredible work. Really a good example of how soul crushing these corpos can be for artists

The craziest Adam Ellis lore to me is still Buzzfeed taking his story about his haunted apartment and making a movie about it, which they could do without his permission or input because he made the comic originally while working for them

18:16 there's also the fact that the back of the mother neck there's a three dot birthmark and for the daughter she has the same birthmark just with four dots. and on the eggshell there's five dots on them!

I remember when Adam Ellis was That Buzzfeed Artist Everyone Hated Bc He Always Did The Same Thing.

I'm glad he didn't let that get him down. And that he got his Buzzfeed bag while the getting was good, certainly can't imagine anyone paying artists like that now.

The Bus Stop feels spooky, but at the same time weirdly comforting, that weird ghost shop selling cheaply what person needs at a moment, and that one time it stopped girl from dying in crash

The green ribbons original story is wholesome, they live their life till their 50's or so and at the end of her life as she is ill he asks one more time what it's for as she is dying and she let's him take it off with her head falling and him horrified, however he loved her and what not, it might sound horrible but he respected her secret till the end resisting every night.

Butter Corn Ramen sounds like something Junji Ito would make, possibly an homage to him.

The first story's couple must have been exceptionally good filmers and editors lol

Yes yes yes! I've been following this artist for a long time and it's so cool seeing his work getting more attention

17:11 that reminds me of the SCP "LAUGH is fun", where something horrific happens to someone randomly and then a TV host jumps out and says "gotcha it's a prank!" And then they're transported to a studio where all the previous victims are forced to laugh 😮 my favorite and most surreal creepy SCP

The corn one is most definitely a parody of the food body horror trope you often see in mangas. Not even Junji Ito could resist (the one with the ice cream van)

In Little House in The Sea, you can see four dots on the gir's nape 17:23 and three dots on the mother's 17:33 and on the baby's egg there's five dots 17:57, so it is definitely more like continuing cycle.

2:34 the floor he's sitting on is an empty tape and i love that detail.

The mother has 3 dots on her neck, the daughter has 4 and the egg has 5.

these are short and sweet but either kinda eerie or "genuinely wtf did i just hear grief say", it reminds me a lot of junji ito how the stories is almost nonsensical but still spooky

7:13 Brooooo this story as a kid got me, idk why they had these green ribbon books at so many elementary schools when I was a kid, but I love they reimagined this story

What’s pretty cool is the story about the girl with the ribbon, in the game The Wolf Among Us, in the story line the tell a similar story of multiple women wearing the ribbons and eventually the head host takes off her ribbon and her head falls off, it’s just interesting how different medias portray the same story in different lights.

I don't remember many details from my childhood in the 80s but a core memory is my teacher reading us the ribbon story and finishing it by literally yelling "... AND HER HEAD FELL OFF!" Millennial kids never stood a chance.
