As a younger millennial 100% agree that black opium and good girl are both party scents. Anytime I smell them Iโm taken back to college and I canโt stand the smell anymore. Add flower bomb to that list too ๐ I canโt believe the youngins are still wearing these!
Hi, again ๐ so Mont Blanc smells exactly like baby wipes here in Europe. I also learned that in different countries detergents and cosmetics traditionally have different smells. For example I've learned that in US scent of lemon is associated with cleaning products whereas in Europe that would be lilly of the valley or some kind of lavender or a different floral...and so that cultural factor is also important. You were talking about violet scent that is used for kids...so I suppose for me Mont Blancs Signature would be an equivalent of something like that...like a comforting baby scent...
I have Graves Disease and Hashimoto's. Both attack the thyroid. I had both for a decade prior to wearing and collecting perfume. Gluten and a leaking gut are more apt to cause autoimmune diseases. I had a thyroidectomy and am on hormone replacement therapy for menopause. So, I will enjoy my perfume guilt free.
Yeah, finally! Iโm not foolishly spending too much money I should, Iโm fighting with dementia! ๐ ๐ช๐ป I always knew that there is a lot more than that ๐ Thank you so much for bringing this up ๐ฅฐ๐
Just want to mention for anyone interested in Love by Chopard - the bottle is beautiful and hefty! I blind bought this and do like it but even when empty, I will keep the bottle to display! โบ๏ธ
Hi Arlene ๐ I also recently declutterrd Badee Al Oud Honor & Glory: it was never my vibe. I found out that one of my male colleagues is wearing it and it smelled fantastic on him, so I gifted my bottle to him. ๐
I have had Casablanca for 2+ years now. Bought it because back then all the perfume reviewers raved about how delicious this scent was. "You will smell like a sweet , toffee/caramel apple!" they said. "It's THE PERFECT fall scent" they said. Unfortunately, not to me. I can't get with that fragrance. The dry down smells like men's vanilla cologne. It's odd ... I'll stick to my Dua Caramel Pomme Delight.
And then there is Qaed al Fursan Unlimited. I know many people love this perfume, but to me it smells like a cheap, plastic synthetic coconut scent. There are just too many delicious, creamy coconut perfumes out there to be fighting with this one. And so, there it lingers in my closet with all the other undesirables. Btw, one of my faves from this dna is Giardini di Toscana Bora Bora.
This is the beauty of perfumery. What smells cheap and synthetic or like baby spit up to some can smell like the most creamiest delicious coconut scent. Maybe I will send the Qaed al Fursan to Jaime!
I love being able to follow your perfume journey. It feels so relatable. Iโm on a very similar journey and we have similar tastes. Casablanca was my first ME fragrance. I bought it for the vanilla too. I too was turned off by the very sharp apple. Luckily I was able to trade it off.
