I can relate to this because I think I might have a level of adhd or autism and it’s mentally draining to be censoring yourself or “acting normal” so for me I try to leave early in large social gatherings not because I don’t like them but they become exhausting at some point

I think I know what you mean, Arlene. Social interactions sometimes get to a point for me when it starts to feel like torture. I had to have interactions with people this whole entire week and I was so looking forward to quiet me – weekend. And when I was asked to do something tomorrow I felt my stomach dropped to my feet.😂 I love people… But I love alone time far more. Love from South Africa.❤

I can relate to so much of your experiences, that sudden fatigue, the feeling of being overwhelmed by a pair of earrings, and definitly when I need to be alone and someone talks to me and want my attention...rage...😅  I always thought it was because I'm introverted and highly sensitive. Whatever reason, learning slowly to set more bounderies for myself (hardest part) I gradually have been able to accept these sides of myself. I think strange is fine, different is fine. What matters is that one lives a good life, the way that feels right for the oneself.❤  By the way - love Terracotta!  and I am 48, so gen X, I think you are so right, it is becomung a bit gen X in fashion.

I've heard peri menopause starts earlier for some women, if you can it would be a good idea to have a blood test for your hormones, fortunately in UK where I live it is free on NHS but hopefully you have good insurance because it's worth it to know ❤. Also my favourite summer perfume this summer has been Mayar from Lattafa! Finished two bottles this summer already

Either we all do this or I’m on the spectrum as well (which would totally be fine with me) Maybe we all end up in the same place here on YouTube because we are fixating on something (ahem.. perfume) and we don’t have to be around other people in person, but we still get to enjoy each others perspectives. At a certain point in my life I realized I would never fit or be "normal" it's like being born with 4 legs you can try to do everything the way other people do and you can succeed and not. You're better at some things, you're worse at others but people pick up there is something different about you however they interpret that. I've given up trying to hide myself, if I'm weird either way then why tire myself out trying. I just let them think what they want instead of overexplaining every single thing and burning myself out. I also will be talking so long suddenly I get so tired and don't want to talk the rest of the day, battery dies quick 😂

Hi Arlene. With all due respect, and with a caring tone, I wish to say that what you’re explaining sounds like feelings that are perfectly normal. So, based on what has been relayed to you, maybe these symptoms put us all on the spectrum. What I actually do see different in your case is a fixation on analyzing these normal feelings and reactions from the lens of possible ASD. Physician here, by the way. I don’t know if the analysis you received was performed by an outfit that is dedicated to ASD diagnosis and treatment only. There’s a saying in medicine, I’m sure you’ve heard that “If your only tool is a hammer, then everything looks like a nail.” I would advise you to seek a psychiatric assessment (or a second opinion) where they can test you simultaneously for a full range of diagnoses to come up with an accurate diagnosis. It might uncover something different. Or it might confirm this diagnosis. But either way, I think it will help solidify the diagnosis and treatment so you can move forward confidently. As a fellow medical colleague and single mom, I enjoy your content and admire your accomplishments. Even without a diagnosis, your achievements are laudable. With a diagnosis, they indicate your brilliant ability to adapt and conquer your environment. ❤
