In this video, we react to Fred Dibnah taking on a crazy chimney overhang climb – and he’s doing it at over 50 years old! Watching him handle this with such guts and skill is seriously impressive. It’s wild to see how fearless he is as a steeplejack, tackling heights that would make most of us dizzy just thinking about it.

If you enjoyed this Fred Dibnah reaction, give us a thumbs up, drop a comment, and don’t forget to subscribe as we keep diving into amazing British history and culture.

Fred didn't need safety gear, if he fell, he simply made sure to land on his massive balls of steel

The man was and still is a legend. Absolutely loved engineering, stone masonry and churches, anything British made.

"A half day out with the undertaker!". That's some very northern English black humour right there 😅.

It was such a damn shame and injustice that this great, fearless man was finally felled by the scourge of cancer 😪😪

No, Fred's son Jack did not become a Steeplejack, but he continued Fred's interest in engineering. Fred died in his bed, he never had an accident at work. The few chimneys that are left are looked after with all sorts of safety gear etc. Doing things the Dibnah way just wouldn't be allowed.

Yes it’s his son, second marriage! At his funeral the only thing on his coffin was his old flat cap, that finished me 😢

He's not doing exercises on the ledge, he's getting the blood back into his arms again. So flicking his arms increases blood flow .

Fred was probably the last with the Spirit of the Victorian Age.

People like Fred is what put the Great into Britain. 😊

What's even more incredible, is the workmanship that went into building that Chimney, and at such a height!
All credit to those who built this!

Full respect to Fred's cameraman also !

I used to drive my truck into Swan Mill in Bolton, and I used to look up at the chimney and smile. You could still see Freds dog holes (pointed). What a guy he was, an absolute legend 🙏❤️

At least Fred was a professional. Look for John Noakes (who at the time was a presenter on the longest running kids tv show, Blue Peter) climbing Nelsons column with no safety gear! Truely awesome!

Fearless Fred.....An absolute legend.

I couldn't have climbed that aged 25 never mind in my 50's! I don't have a fear of heights either and I'm not physically capable of hauling god only knows how much up several ladders and how many feet (virtually) straight upwards.
Man was certifiable but also a legend. There will never be another Fred Dibnah.
