The real crime was Val Kilmer not even getting nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars that year.

Wild Bill in Deadwood and Wild Bill that's mentioned by Doc Holiday are one and the same.

Historical accounts from survivors on both sides of this battle confirmed that Wyatt Earp did in fact just walk out into the river there and start killing people like a badass.

Maddie was actually Wyatt's "Common Law" Wife. Meanning they were Not Legally Married!

"I'll be damned. This is funny." Were Doc's actual last words.

Everybody loves Doc.

The red sashes are just for this movie. The bullet holes still riddle the Bird Cage theatre in Tombstone.

You're one of the few reactors who understands when the characters are using opioids.

Hi Andelain. Virgil's wife was indeed Paula Malcolmson who played Trixie. There is a lot of doubt about Wyatt and Maddie being married. Wyatt and a previous wife had amicably decided to part ways, but never legally divorced. So he was in fact already married. Maddie was a former saloon girl/prostitute Wyatt had met and they decided to travel together. Val Kilmer should have gotten an Oscar nomination for this performance. The original director was a shambles and was replaced by someone who did very little to make things better. The cast turned to Kurt to get things righted. He  did a lot of rewrites and altered the story line a bit.  .  Val kilmer said that if Kurt had not needed to put so much energy into directing his (Val's words) great performance as Wyatt  would also have been Oscar worthy. Wild Bill was indeed the Wild Bill Hickock who appeared in Deadwood. He was a sometimes lawman and sometimes gunman with a large reputation. At the end Doc said this is funny. You may have heard the expression often used for soldiers, lawmen and other men of action, that they don't go quietly, but die with their boots on. He found it funny that he was dying in bed and barefoot. The following is a quote from Earp describing his friend Doc:  Doc [Holliday] was a dentist whom necessity had made a gambler; a gentleman whom disease had made a frontier vagabond; a philosopher whom life had made a caustic wit; a long lean ash-blond fellow nearly dead with consumption, and at the same time the most skillful gambler and the nerviest, speediest, deadliest man with a gun that I ever knew.   I enjoy your reactions. looking forward to more. Stay safe and well.

“Skin that smoke-wagon and see what happens” might be my favorite line in the whole movie. It isn’t the most memorable, but it’s just such a damn good line

In Doc's death scene the reason he says about it being funny, is because he always thought he would die with his boots on. He thought he would die in a gunfight

Yes, they were referring to Wild Bill Hickok. The same character that's in Deadwood.  Wild Bill Hickok was so fast and accurate that whenever he had a gunfight people would stand behind his opponent. They knew wild Bill would not miss his Target.

Strange how no one seems to voice the fact that among the stars in this movie there is a part played by the greatest star of them all Charlton Heston. hmmm

Val Kilmer performance in "Tombstone" is fantastic and the very heart and soul of the movie.

The bully that Wyatt cowers is Billy Bob Thornton in one of his earliest roles.

Victor Mature, Kirk Douglas and Jason Robards turned in solid performances as Doc Holliday in their respective movies but Val Kilmer is on another level.

Tombstone is still relevant today because it's not just a western #ShootEmUp. It's a Best-friends movie, it's a love story, it's a tragedy, and a drama. It's my favorite western of all time.

Tombstone, Arizona is still a small town, and it is a tourist attraction that does the OK Corral gunfight. The actual OK Corral gunfight with Wyatt Earp, his two brothers and John "Doc" Holiday (he was a dentist and he quit because of his tuberculosis) only lasted 30 seconds. They were arrested, faced trial for murder and the presiding judge had them acquitted. Wyatt Earp became a Hollywood adviser during the silent era for western films. John "Doc" Holiday passed away at the age of 36.

Doc saw how fast Ringo could draw at the bar when they first met, he knew he could beat him, he also avoided drawing his weapon so Ringo never knew how fast Doc could be.
