Nothing will make you feel as old as when all these reactors just brush past Charlton freakin' Heston when he makes his cameo appearance.

“I found him a loyal friend and good company. He was a dentist whom necessity had made a gambler; a gentleman whom disease had made a vagabond; a philosopher whom life had made a caustic wit; a long, lean blonde fellow nearly dead with consumption and at the same time the most skillful gambler and nerviest, speediest, deadliest man with a six-gun I ever knew.”

– Wyatt Earp speaking of Doc Holliday

The reason why Ringo was bothered by Doc mocking him with the cup is that he realized that Doc, three sheets to the wind, memorized and copied his movements perfectly- with a cup.

The actor that had Val Kilmer stay in his house just for the night is Charlton Heston legendary actor

The reason Doc says " This is Funny" at the end is because he sees that he's not wearing shoes. The real Doc Holliday always swore that he would die with his boots on

Wyatt Earp was a legendary law man. So legendary that it would be hard to believe he was standing in front of you. The scene with Wyatt in the saloon does such a great job of establishing his character. A good man shouldn't run in the face of evil. Someone has to establish law and order.

The obnoxious dealer he threw out of the bar was an early Billy Bob Thornton - Wyatt's wife is not drinking, she's taking opium (laudanum) - they call Doc "lunger" because he has TB - Holliday was actually a dentist - Billy was Jason Priestly and the older man Doc holed up with was Charlton Heston - Doc said "It's funny" because he wanted to die with his boots on and he was barefoot in the bed

18:23 It was a legal shoot. The guy warned him not to raise his weapon.

Val Kilmer is so good as Doc Holiday!!!

Doc doesn't actually want to live - his lady knows that. But Doc does have one true friend, and they would do anything for each other.

Wyatt Earp, lived until after WW1 ended, he saw the transition from muskets, to revolvers, to repeating firearms, to machine guns, to the invention of the automobile, to the invention and then militarization of aero planes...it's insane to think about what he saw...if he had lived 5 more years, he would have seen things like Bonnie and Clyde, and the rise of Adolf. He was also not a good person, he liked to walk a very grey line between lawman and criminal.

The reason Doc said " that's funny " because he was barefoot. He always assumed he would die with his boots on.

11:30 exactly, the actor that played Johnny Ringo said that he wanted to meet Val Kilmer going into the movie but he only got to meet Doc Holliday

Virgil brought Morgan's body to his parents home in Colton California, he is buried about a mile off the 10 fwy near the  Pepper street exit. Virgil later became the local sheriff.

Wyatt Earp once said, “Doc [Holliday] was a dentist whom necessity had made a gambler; a gentleman whom disease had made a frontier vagabond; a philosopher whom life had made a caustic wit; a long lean ash-blond fellow nearly dead with consumption, and at the same time the most skillful gambler and the nerviest, speediest, deadliest man with a gun that I ever knew.”

They asked the guy playing Johnny Ringo how it was meeting Val Kilmer. He said he never met Val Kilmer. He said everyday, all day he was in Doc Holiday character. Never broke character. Might be why you can't really see Val Kilmer in the character.

Michael Biehn, the actor who played Johnny Ringo, was once asked what it was like working with Val Kilmer. Michael paused and said, "I didn't work with Val Kilmer, but I do a movie with Doc Holiday."

If you ever go to Arizona,  make sure you visit Tombstone, its preserved and the saloons are still there, along with that cemetery

Sheriff Behan is the only character whose mustache isn't real. That actor was also acting in another movie that required him to be clean shaven.

Doc knew from the first time they met in the saloon that he could beat Ringo. Because as fast as Ringo was, he pulled his gun and extended his arm to point it at Doc's head. Doc shot from the hip and that split second difference meant he knew he was faster. Doc responds by twirling the cup because as any good poker players knows, you don't tip your hand.
