I was curious about this one. Glad to see it covered

My brain operates under the Tavern being the bar/restaurant in town and the inn being a small place with 2 or 3 rooms for rent.

29:15 🤓 Inns being "just hotels" is actually historically accurate (for the most part). The idea of inns and taverns being one and the same, or an inn having a bar on the ground floor, is largely a fantasy trope that isn't grounded in historical reality for that period.

yeah, thats why it suggests running them in order as the heroes can level up after completing a certain amount of the encounters.

50:24 I really needed to see this guy after Jen got the immediate hots for the Character on the card her husband is holding 😂❤😅

The johnathon of this world is almost definitely jongathonalon

The only thing this starter set demonstrated to me is how most dnd games go with premade things and how much better Dave's way of DMing is. The improv and fluid way is so much less anxiety for everyone involved. I dont wanna be flipping through cards and books just to accurately depict the elvish (non-elf) himbo who they will ignore anway because he is so pretty.

I was expecting the Matt mercer, and now it’s time to play starter set. Well done best thing you have done in ages.

Hmm... Having separate Inn and Tavern is not that illogical. I mean - yes, it is if there is not that many people. But - host houses were a thing in medieval europe. They were often run by churches for pilgrims, travellers, homeless and infirm- they later evolved in two ways - some evolved into hotels/hostels and other evolved into hospitals. But it was understood as "place of care". They were separate from taverns.

A wizard without mage armour or shield might as well be a zombie. 😁

Love this recently, new to dnd and purchased the set, dragging my friends into it who have never played so I have by default been tasked as the dm, good to see how things might play out

Vaughn! Apropos of NOTHING, but your editing is wonderful! Nice to see you having fun with the crew, too!

We played our first ever DnD run with this starter set. I was so confused not knowing what to do as a DM. I thought we need a map on the table right away, so we directly decided to go to the trail and I instantly put the map on the table. Looking how you played it, you were talking and aligning an hour before even entering a map :D

This was a fun review! I love how a good chunk of it was menu reading 😂😂 Honestly, a mood

Card storage mini binders normally used for magic can be used they used to have binders and plastic sleeve card inserts you could get different sizes

This was fun, and Vaughn is so cuuuuuute 🥰

DM Dave you are making the mistake that D&D in general and Greyhawk in particular is supposed to be a one for one reflection of Medieval Europe with dragons. Its not, and never was.  - it is a fantasy world with its own economy, cultures and religions and things like hurricane lamps and iron rations that would be anachronisms in a genuine medieval setting. Your comment on Inns and Taverns and banks is a bit out of context. Likewise the keep is a border military base maintained by the kingdom its in (originally either the Barony of Ratik, the Duchy of Tenh, or the Theocracy of the Pale, or later, the Yeomanry), not a town in the usual sense.

vaughn is cute keep him on team :3 also im loving your content recently guys keep it up <3 looking foward to more of your mini line and seeing them on channel :P

Would love to see more D&D content :)
