Why you think Gen Z doesn’t want fame?

@PracticalMagicCartomancy 3 months ago

I got rid of TikTok this year and I don't post on social media anymore. Best thing I ever did. Keep quiet. Be invisible. Don't ask for likes. Find your happiness from inside not outside.

I showed that photo of Ariana to my boyfriend, and he said, "it looks like she lived through a Holocaust"
That really hit me. That's exactly what it looks like. And the screaming fans behind her with their phones out recording made it that more horrifying

Man when Britney chokes out that 'yeah' I tear up every time

This video exemplifies why I will never understand celebrity worship, celebs will never know you, will never meet you and will never love you, so why sacrifice your life for someone who doesn't know you exist

I remember being little and wanting to be a rockstar and then I thought that sounds like a lot of work and it never crossed my mind again. I was born to be jobless lmao

I wanna be “Jazz famous”. I want to walk into one room where everyone knows me and I make an impact but as soon as I leave that room I become a nobody again.

That picture is going to be in history books in 50 years. How we in this time normalised people dying in front of our eyes and didnt do anything

dude that photo at the start looks like the poster of a horror movie😃

Dude. The first 30 seconds of this video is INSANE. The visual at 00:20 of Ariana “getting drained by the sea of iphones behind her” is crazy accurate. Wow, this is epic.

It's an equally depressing and freeing experience to finally realize "I am completely insignificant".

If someone has something you want, don't envy and be sure a price was paid

There was a comment under one of her videos of her performing that said “omg, Ariana has an ED yet she still chooses to perform for us. This is why I love her sm.” I was truly disgusted, and realized her “fans” don’t truly care about her, or any artist really . This is exactly why these celebrities hate their fans (like what Doja said) because they’re literally bonkers. They treat them like robots, or dance monkeys. They don’t care for their health, as long as they get a good show. There has to be some form of balance man, why can’t we just enjoy the art without acting delusional and disturbed?

I was going to buy a ticket for her Boston show, but after seeing her state- I could neverrr support that.

If we are living in Black Mirror, I'm that trucker lady from the social media episode Nose Dive, season 3 episode 1.

I used to say ‘boo hoo’ to all the celebs that complained about their success and fame. But now in the modern day, I see it clearly and genuinely feel bad for a lot of them. It’s just a sad state of affairs for many, especially former Nickelodeon or Disney stars whose fame was completely artificially made. Who knows if they ever even wanted it from the start or knew what they were getting into.

I am so glad to be a nobody. Privacy, health, family, and peace of mind are truly life's luxuries; not large homes, fame, and fortune. Yeah, money makes life easier, but I'd rather be broke and live a peaceful life being a nobody to the rest of the world than live the life of a celebrity.

As millennial I never wanted fame I always enjoyed privacy being anonymous.

I don't know if people desire to be famous, but instead desire to connect with people through their art and support themselves by creating. People don't ask for fame they ask for the freedom to be creative as a full time job lmao. It's the masses who enforce the mania and feel entitled to the personal lives of the artists they connect with. It's insane. Instead of blaming fame, shame the people who eat up paparazzi photos and tabloids. Shame those who glorify celebrities rather than the art they've created.

The black mirror episode was supposed to represent what Britney Spears was going through… I feel so horribly for her, she truly deserves so much better

It’s wild how we treat celebrities like blank canvases. When they start out, we project all our own hopes and 'perfect versions of ourselves' onto them. But the second they show they’re actually human, with their own flaws and struggles, we punish them for it. The 'it comes with the territory' argument is just a convenient excuse for people to project their own insecurities onto someone they’ve never met instead of looking inward. We build them up just to tear them down when they stop being a mirror for our own ideals. It’s ironic, because many who claim to hold moral ground use that same 'justification' to be cruel, forgetting that this cycle of adoration followed by public persecution is exactly how history has treated so many figures who were eventually crucified for simply being human. We’re quick to judge, but we rarely stop to consider that our need to 'tear them down' says far more about our own dissatisfaction than it does about their character.
