Stan and Bill are both voiced by the creator so this is genius

I went to Highschool with Alex Hirsch.  He was a hilarious genius back then, and Gravity Falls was a long work in progress.

Bill is a character who by all means should one of the most detestable beings to ever grace fiction, and yet still somehow still manages to be incredibly tragic and pitiable at the same time.

Once you pull back the layers you can really see that he's essentially an immortal child throwing a tantrum because he was never able to grow or emotionally mature after he burned his homeworld down.

He's always in denial of the obvious, he throws hissy fits when he doesn't get his way, and constantly trying to convince everyone else that he's right and the coolest person in the room.

One of my favourite pieces of Bill lore is from the Book of Bill website where not only did he go out of his way to keep a selection of all of Stan's lowest moments out of pure pettiness, he also wrote an entire poem about Stanley being a failure. While still insisting he's not mad and that Stan didn't actually win.

Its hard to find, being a secret in a sceret in a secret. But it really shows despite all of his power at the end of the day, he's still just a petty brat who never grew up.

No BS but imo Bill Cipher is the best Disney Villain of all time and is something modern Disney animated films should take notes from if they want to make memorable villains again

Bill Cipher truly is selfish. He’s also one of the greatest villains of all time.

“ I guess he was useful after all” but seriously, I’m surprised you did a character analysis on not just Bill, but on the other characters on Gravity Falls. This show really teaches us about how villains or not, everyone can be selfish sometimes, but it doesn’t matter if your selfish, it’s how you are that counts; like how Stan, Dipper, and Mabel is selfish but is willing sacrifice their desires for others, while Bill is willing to sacrifice anyone for it.

Another sign of Bill’s selfishness was his attitude towards his home dimension.
He told Stanford that the two-dimensional world was a dreadful place, so he "liberated" it through annihilation.
He did as he pleased without asking anyone’s opinion or giving others a choice.

Phew😅 Glad you were able to fix the audio for a repost. It's like it was one of Bill's diabolical works that shut the audio off last time. Glad he's gone...for now. Still, it's so great that you actually did a video essay on Bill Cipher, one TV Animation's greatest baddies!

Now this is groovy! Selfish villains are just so memorable because there are selfish people in the real world. Now Codename: Kids Next Door villains as well as Ducktales 2017 villains are selfish because even though they have valid motivations for committing crimes, that still don't excuse them for making these crimes all about themselves. Such as Grandfather transforming everyone into Senior Citizombies who have ever been kids so they can give him rich tapioca for him and him only.
