I will be a big old fuckin nerd and point out that Krieg infantry are specifically not German infantry, in fact it runs deeper than that.

The nerds at forgeworld went out of their way to mash together several nations equipment from World War 1. The Helmet has the Stalhelm as a base but the French helm ridge ontop, the gas mask is a mix of Russian and British designs. The body armor on the basic infantry is German but on the officers is French, the Greatcoats are a mashup of French, German AND Russian style greatcoats.

So yeah, they're literally World War 1 mashup: in space.

I have a very large Pratorian Guard army. Well over 100 bros and finally got my hands on an auto cannon, gunner sitting down and some casualties. Got them all for a descent price and will never part with them. It was that 97 white dwarf and the one with the orcs that got me into 40K. Always a dream Army and am happy to have them.

I remember in the 3rd Edition Rulebook or IG Codex, the Death Korps were just an alternate paint scheme to the Armageddon Steel Legion. As a Steel Legion collector myself, I’ve been buying up the Death Korps stuff to repaint and subtlety alter them into Steel Legion, we’ve come full circle.

Got my first imperial guards in the 1990’s. The plastic box with 36 miniatures. And some Human Bombs. 😅 I play with my 1990s Guard regularly at tournaments. Many of my opponents are younger than my miniatures. 😀
