Welcome back to In The Mixer where this week we are joined by former Liverpool, Blackburn & Aston Villa full back Stephen Warnock!

He opens up on being left out of the 2005 Champions League Final in Istanbul after being told he had made the squad initially and why the fall out of this incident left him losing all respect for then Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.

We also dive deep into his career where he opens up on great relationships with managers like Sam Allardyce but not so good with relationships with Martin O'Neill and Gerard Houllier. He also tells us how Houllier BLOCKED his move back to Liverpool out of jealousy!

Steve is a great listen man

everybody's fault but his own.. a mid table premier league/championship player. Perhaps it would have been worth listening to an O'Neill like figure.

i dont understand how everyone else is so positive about Warnock in this interview , what a man child he would lose his head in a light breeze .

Rafa was sound as a pound and a great judge of a player. 2 x La Liga titles with Valencia and CL with Liverpool cannot be argued with.

Fantastic interview.

Got put into the reserves at Villa so he started trying to disrupt the first teams training sessions, didn't want to support his team mates in the CL final because he was dropped - classless

Riise and Fabio Aurelio were levels above you, mate. You weren't Liverpool standard. Get over it.

18:00 what joleon needs to realise is that he had 2 years where he knew he was going and we could’ve got more money for him. If he left in 2023 there wouldn’t have been an issue. He knew what he was doing

What a prat. O’Neil obviously had him figured out.

Stephen ‘not my fault’ Warnock. The same school of thought as Andy Cole. Will players ever be honest and take some responsibility rather than protecting their brands? No wonder they don’t go into management with such fragile egos.

No disrespect but Stephen Warnock should be grateful to have even played at Liverpool at that level under Benitez look at him after dropped to the level he was really at...He was a championship level player and not at that level thats what Benitez saw nothing to argue with ⚽️
