What are your thoughts and experiences with Echo? I'd also love to hear if you have primarily played her solo or in multiplayer!

Those Dynamic Duo and Teamup plays 🤯

One of the hero I never expect to be so fun even in the deckbuilding phase. She can do what we magic player call toolbox deck where she has answer to every problem which I never seen other hero ever does. For example, I included Relentless Assault, Outta my Way, and Into the Fray as answer to minions or thwart since you can get it back with study the tape or Practice Makes Perfect AE. You can do more with her that specific card that never get use

Haven’t really figured out how to pilot her yet. Thanks for the insights.

I've been playing Echo in a honed technique aggression deck with 2 and 3 cost events amd it's been super consistent and fun!

I 100% agree with you: I really like her, but she's a multiplayer hero (and a very cool one!)
First, I didn't understand why people didn't like/win with her, but I forgot most people online are playing solo :p

Keep up the good work

I agree that Echo’s play style doesn’t lend itself to playing her over and over, but I actually like having heroes like that in the game. I don’t need every hero to have the versatility of someone like Captain America. Sometimes it’s fun to just pick up a hero with a narrower play style that feels unique, like Bishop or Maria Hill, and then set them back down for a while when their play style starts to feel stale. I think Echo fills her own niche very well and I like her a lot.

Ecco reference is pure gold!

Very interesting! Thanks for the video!

Echo aggression is pure glass cannon. She might be able to push some of the speed run characters. I fully committed to the line that I either win in three turns or lose. Probably not optimal but it’s a fun high wire act

Pair her with Spider Woman and stun and confuse lock villain for whole game

Great review. I played a couple solo games and one two-handed. My impression definitely agrees with your and Web Warrior’s thoughts.
She was fun and can do some unique things; however, I don’t think she clicked as one I’ll keep coming back too. She is still a really interesting design though!

She's the only hero for whom Hit and Run is a better card than Multitalented. I love when they do designs like that, even if unintentionally. I'm a huge fan of old cards considered to be terrible being able to find a home in different decks, even if it's very niche. I threw together an Aggression deck and added H&R  to help with thwarting. It wasn't a card I went to often, but it was useful when I needed to deal with more threat than her basic action could handle. And if you play it once, you can just hold it under her until you need it again later, which also means every time you need to use The Rez for healing you'll always get at least 3HP back. I can't wait to try her with Nerve Strike. That is going to open up some interesting builds for her with decks full of one copy of different events because as long as you have Choreography out, she'll be able to flip down and then next turn grab whatever she might need that turn. She has such an interesting play loop.

And See No Evil, Hear No Evil is just an insane card as long as you have Daredevil. If somebody else is running the DD hero, SNE,HNE is a no-brainer include.

I don't care about her as a character at all, but I love her mechanics. The last time I had this exact same feeling for a character was Venom.

I'd love to hear your thoughts not on playing the same event twice, but comboing 2 events together. She might be the best at doing that, and while there probably aren't huge combos there, it's nice to actually have Moment of Triumph available when you actually play Into the Fray, or Waylay when you're Clearing the Area. I build a lot of decks with those combos and they so rarely line up.

Echo is stupidly strong. She solves one of the biggest issue in deck building: when all the stars have to align to get everything you need at the right time. Echo reaches this state consistently.

In aggression with Honed Technique, her katana and Full-Body Charge you can consistently hit for 16dmg.

In protection she can consistently get defense events at the right time. With Ready For A Fight she can even draw the right event from her deck with her AE ability.

She's also amazing for Mutant Chaos in leadership, replaying X-Men/-Force over and over again.

Great video! Trying her today, and my friend wants to play Rogue. Do you have the decklist to Rogue's Mutant Mayhem deck? Would love try that combo!

Echo is extremely deck dependent. Perhaps more than any other hero in the game. And because of that, I think the low floor high ceiling sentiment is very accurate.
But that is also what makes her exciting. She will always scale with the game. Any time a new event is released, Echo has an opportunity to break that card.

Overall I think she's great. But she's one of those heros i like to deck build more than actually playing her.

Haven't tried anything from this wave yet. What you say about Echo's power level is a bit disappointing to me because lore and character design accuracy is important for me. Jess, a mere human with a bit of superhuman strength, will be worst than Echo in this regard cause she'll crush Omega level mutants and the Earth's Mightiest Heroes alike.

Btw, I love the character and she's a fine detective haha.

Echo is my favorite hero right now. Is she OP? Probably. Is she more OP than Jessica Jones? Not in my opinion.

She does make it tough for events that come out in the future, because she breaks a lot of stuff.

And I've played Echo both in solo and MP. She plays so much different in both.

And she is repetitive but I believe you need to make her deck a toolbox since she can tutor up one event every time.

Also I avoid In Harms Way and breaking See No Evil because that is boring to me.

The first deck I played with her was Strength in Diversity during the Loki event. Two straight turns in a solo game against him, I played it 6 times for 12 damage / threat each.

I did more damage to Loki than the 4 player group did in my grouping.

Then I retired that deck because it's boring.
