What do you guys think of Iron Fist so far?

EDIT: Totally forgot about Strength In Diversity with his three traits! In solo, SiD is the perfect cost for Redirect Chi generating 2 resources.

What I have really liked about Iron Fist and all the Defenders is they really feel like they belong with each other both thematically and with their styles. Really hope they can get a second street level wave   to expand on this.

Ok. I was on the fence, and now I'm sold on Iron Fist.

Looks very interesting and versatile... Thanks for the video!

Great analysis.  I enjoyed your thoughts.  Like many I am really enjoying this wave, but Iron Fist has been my most anticipated for sure.  November cannot come fast enough!

In Iron Fist solo comic, Luke Cage is mostly not present because its more about the Kun Lun itself so him not being absent as identitiy ally is understandable.
With leadership, I think you can play upgrades on ally and that will be neat.

haha chillain theory you should adopt that as the official alter ego

I think the temporary keyword paired with the technique trait is actually really cool.
It opens th possibility of aspect/basic cards with the technique trait and temparary keyword that have Forced Interrupt effects when they are discarded. It could be a way to print more cards that build around Nebula's gameplay without needing to print more heroes with her text box

Lei Kung the Thunderer is Iron Fist's teacher/ mentor. As far as I'm aware he rarely leaves K'un-Lun. And so like Daredevil and Stick, it makes sense that he would be a support.

And i guess him having the martial art trait allows another player who's not a martial artist play black belt while you're down in Danny Rand form? Or at could exhaust him for organizational support?  I dunno why you would but hey it's a thing!

I didn't even think about the similarity with X-23's Pain Tolerance. The first thing that came to mind for me with Iron Fist's forced response was actually Drax, where if you flip him you remove all the vengeance counters and he heals two damage for each one removed.

I say this about almost every hero, so it may not mean much, but I'm looking forward to Iron Fist. His mechanics seem really fun and puzzle-y, which I'm always down for. Daredevil has been a lot of fun with figuring out where to put his senses and in what order to maximize their use. Speaking of, I've been wondering what your take on Daredevil is, since he's been the hero you've been most looking forward to. Is a video in the works for that? If so, I will definitely keep an eye out for it.

Would be nice to have a few aspect Technique upgrades for both him & Nebula to make use of.

Good thoughts.  I like your suggestion of running him in Justice, since I'd expect to struggle with his 1 printed THW stat.  On another note... I'm hoping you'll do some analysis of the FNE villain/scheme combos, which Underlings work best with which scenarios for fun or ease/difficulty.  And how you'd rank each aspect for DD and Echo, as part of their analysis.

He might be a good hero to leave in AE turn 1. He can pull a technique T1 and play it. Pull another during the villain phase (since the ability is once per phase and not round) and then pull a third to start the next hero phase. That could allow a bigger turn 2.

My first thought with his 3 traits (and typically playing 2 handed solo) is a Strength in Diversity build. Clarity of Purpose could end up a staple in any leadership deck for him.

Hey, I love drawing card and combos. This is my favorite design from the defenders probably.

I plan on trying two things first: some stupid mass card draw + mass heal protection deck, which should be pretty fun.

And then something aimed at comboing. Since chi counters only get discarded at the end of the phase in hero form, you can stack like 8 of them and flip to alter ego to have a lot the turn after. In protection you can go crazier with ready for a fight to end each player phase in alter ego. And the resource generator does not have a limit on usage per round. But I'm not sure what I would spend all of it on yet.

Colleen Wing as a signature ally perhaps?

Why would Iron Fist prefer a low curve?

Because he likes Chi’p cards ;)

Hey VT, do you plan to update your best modular’s document with this box and/or after Shadowlands comes out?

It’s been such a valuable resource and while I do switch up mods on my own for theme, your expertise is highly valued!

Hey bruh, hopefully you've gotten a few games of Luke Cage in, maybe in different aspects? I'd love to see a similar type video on him. But I know you're chillin so I expect nothing! 😂

Out of everyone, I have been waiting for Iron Fist and he does not dissapoint 10/10 flavor. I played some of Captain Marvel & Spider-ham card draw deck and I don’t particularly like drawing cards for the sake of drawing (granted he might the only person with huge payoff at the end).
I think I’ll just play him with low cost card like Assess the Situation. I just hope Deep Breathing won’t be as bad as Magneto in actual gameplay because I don’t want him to feel very samey.

Feels like he will be very crunchy. Potentially my favourite of the wave (currently DD). But I was a MTG Arena sweat during Covid 😂
