Thank you, that was out of this world. My jaw was hanging open for most of it. I expect to re-watch this many times. My favourite game is one I played with my best freind, who on his 7th or 8th move, stared intensely at the board for about 20 minutes and then took one of his own pieces with one of mine. In his defense, he was quite drunk.

The game is a kind of miracle. Kasparow must have seen all these variations in a kind of video sequel in his head. Seeing the decisive diagonal in the end after Topalov had given so many defending answers, allowing only one winning continuation. Did Kasparow ever describe how this worked in his brain and imagination?

I once looked 13 moves ahead and started with Q x P...but there was no time control, or I would have lost on time. Everything was forced after that, but I was banking on him accepting the sacrifice.
