This was such a sobering film on the reality of evil and violence in the world and how it can go unpunished. Would not recommend if you want a feel good movie but if you're in the mood like I was for a deep and thought provoking story, you'll love this one. Enjoy :)

I believe this is one of those few movies that exists where the main protagonist and main antagonist never share a scene with one another!

About your final comments: I think most people enjoy watching movie reactions not because they want to get some brilliant new insight from the reactor, but because it's great to watch someone else experience a movie for the first time that they themselves have already seen and really loved. And your reactions are always great for that. So no need to worry about not having something new and groundbreaking to say. :)

The coin toss scene in the shop is one of the best moments in movies! The tension is absolutely insane! 😢😨💯

Anton Chigurh is one of the most terrifying villains of all time imo! His presence in every scene is so anxiety inducing especially with calmness and zero emotion! 😨😂

43:00 - Chigurh and the sheriff are not in that hotel room at the same time.

Anton Chigurh's cattle bolt gun is one of the most unique weapons I've ever seen! No ballistics, no shell casings, no nothing! Practically undetectable 😨

Psychologist say that this guy is the closest to an actual psychopath in film history

The trick of the story is that the Sheriff is the real protagonist, not Moss. But many people forget/don't realize that until Moss is dead (even though the story starts with the Sheriff's narration).

No you smashed that reaction mate, a lot of people are left completely lost but you got the story on the first viewing, it’s one of those movies you can revisit every so often and still really enjoy it, we watched it in the theatre when it came out and it’s one of those really rare movies where at the end everyone just sat there for a few moments in silence trying to process what just happened

The kid on the bike at the end was Walter Jr's "Flynn's" friend in Breaking Bad. That's where you probably saw him before.

One of the scariest antagonists! No Country for Old Men is so well made and well written, love it!

This movie is highly regarded because it's based on a novel by Cormac McCarthy - one of the greatest American authors of the last ~60 years - and it was adapted and directed by the Coen Brothers - the greatest American writing/directing team of the last ~40 years.

This film isn't a horror film.
But it also is.

Anton is considered the most accurate depiction of a violent psychopath (or violent/criminal Antisocial Personality Disorder) in film history. The complete disregard for consequences is frighteningly accurate

37:03 a cool detail about this is the dates are significant. Being someone who went then means he was someone who volunteered to serve rather than going only because he was drafted.

No soundtrack created so much tension.

Good reaction. I have watched way more reactions to this movie than I should admit. I liked that you pointed out that all the main guys were smart and competent. Two ended up dead, one injured, one retired. The trailer park lady was saved by a flush. Random luck.
When the sheriff went to the motel, saw the lock blown out, imagined Chigurh was in there, yet swung the door open slowly fully exposing his body….that was a guy who was broken and gave himself up to fate. The following scene with Ellis put hash words to it…can’t stop what’s coming/vanity.

"Hell or highwater" is a similar neo western film I highly recommend reacting to : )

Kudos for understanding Moss was not a hero...He was greedy and his moral ambiguity got him and his wife killed. In the book the sheriff was more clearly the protagonist, but viewers of the film seem to want to root for Moss instead. This won Best Picture Oscar and Javier Bardem for best supporting actor. Don't know how many other Coen brothers films you've seen, but Fargo is probably their masterpiece, an unusual crime thriller that won its star an Oscar. They've also done a lot of clever comedies, and if their name is on it, it's gonna be worth watching.
