Also remember kids, every Harmony made in Chicago is SOLID WOOD, only the imported “Harmony est. 1892” guitars are plywood. Sure they were blown out the door as fast as humanly possible, but they were all made with quality materials, so if you’re willing to put some work into them, they’re a “vintage guitar” made of fantastic old wood with a unique voice.
P-13 pickups are great. My understanding is when Gibson released the p90, they offloaded all of the remaining P13’s and Harmony is who scooped them up. They don’t get the love they deserve because they’re most associated with a “catalog brand” instead of who actually made them.
I know the story. But considering Gibson used these for about 4 years and Harmony used them for about 20 years…something tells me Gibson didn’t ~MAKE~ them all.
