I took Seth’s recommendation. I bought that D’Addario clip on guitar tuner seen here. It’s rechargeable. I’ve had it for months and only charged it once I got it on Amazon for $29 and change. it’s awesome. Seems to be more sensitive and picks up tuning changes much quicker than any other tuner I’ve had before! thanks, Seth! You are the man!
Thank you for the hack. In my mind if it gets the guitar playable and out of the rubbish then it is great. Please share any more "hacks." I love acoustic videos too. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I've learned a lot and love working on my guitars.
Hello, Seth! Thanks for the video. You shouldn't say that acoustic guitars aren't interesting—they certainly are. That’s exactly the kind of instrument I have. I probably won't do the work myself, but I’ll definitely keep the information in mind. I have a Yamaha 412-12 (12-string) in exactly the same condition 😑 And I’m very far away...
Have you ever cut an angled slot in the neck heel, inserting Hyde glue in the cut, applying pressure to seal the cut, and there you have it a cheap neck reset?
Just a wild thought, it seems like to me a neck reset is correcting a collapse of the area between the sound hole and neck heel. Could you temporarily jack up this area where the fretboard overhangs, and wedge in maybe 3 posts like are in violins to keep that area up as a permanent fix?
