All Dogs Go to Heaven is a 1989 animated musical fantasy comedy drama film directed by Don Bluth. It stars the voices of Loni Anderson, Judith Barsi (in her final film role), Dom DeLuise, Melba Moore, Charles Nelson Reilly, Burt Reynolds, and Vic Tayback. Set in New Orleans in 1939, it tells the story of Charlie B. Barkin, a German Shepherd mix who is murdered by his former friend, Carface Carruthers. Charlie escapes from Heaven to return to Earth, where his best friend, Itchy Itchiford, still lives, to take revenge on Carface. Instead, he befriends a young orphan girl named Anne-Marie. In the process, Charlie learns an important lesson about kindness, friendship, and love.

I’m glad you talked about Dom’s performance in that scene. 14:58

R.I.P. Judith Barsi, Charles Nelson Reilly, Dom Deluise and Burt Reynolds.

At last, the origins of THE BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT! Not Don Bluth's best, but definitely one of his more under appreciated gems. Also, RIP Judith Barsi. No one should be taken from this world so soon.

This ending BROKE me as a kid.

Heck it still breaks me as an adult.

Contrary to popular belief, Reynolds had already finished recording his lines before Barsi was murdered. But Don Bluth did confirm that for the two weeks after Barsi’s death, the animation team didn’t work on any of her scenes.

Rest in peace Judith Barsi. She didn’t deserve to go at such a young age.

Lana Beeson did Anne-Marie's singing in "Soon You'll Come Home". Judith Barsi broke down during the audition because of her life at home, and the filmmakers decided not to push her.

A sad fact - with the exception of Annabelle the angel dog, the entire main cast has sadly passed away.

RIP Judith Barsi. She will always be remembered for her sweet innocence ❤️

All Doug has is Titan AE and Thumbelina left to do, and he’d cover all of Don Bluth movies

"It's not his most emotional film."

Oh bullshit Doug! I will cry like a baby everytime Charlie and Anne Marie say goodbye to each other at the end of the film!

Rest in peace Judith. You were taken from us too soon

This movie is in honor of the actor named Judith Barsi. She voices Ducky from the Land Before Time. Unfortunately, All Dogs go to Heaven was the last movie that she played as she and her mother were killed by her father before the movie was released; she was only 10 years old after dealing with abuse.

Charlie being their Father never dawned on me...

12:05 I thing the reason why Judith wasn’t singing is because she would cry because of her awful home life so they got someone else

@darksuperboy 1 day ago

the progduction team paused work for two weeks after Judith death because her recordings were too heartbreaking.

Finally Doug comes full circle with the origins of "The Big Lipped 🐊 Moment".

It's a small detail but I like that Killer's the one that pushed Marie to shore and that could be for any number of reasons, whether it's because he's not actually like... a BAD DOG, just one that's been mistreated or that even a dog that might be a bad one can still help save a dying girl. I dunno, it's kinda sweet

In the Book Of Life, Charlie is written with Don Bluth's birthday of 8-13-37, and he died on Mardi Gras 1939 - meaning he built up a criminal empire, tasted pain and hurt and even dirt and got jilted by a skirt and served time in the pound and escaped and was killed by the age of 18 months. Even in "dog years," he's 11 years old.

This is a movie franchise where, if Carface is making his plans with Red in real time, Itchy managed to outlive Charlie by 57 years, so maybe the timeline was always wibbly-wobbly.
