I have a 1981 44 Carbine in excellent condition. I looked at it just tonight after watching the video and thought to myself that this skilled wood craftsman probably made the perfectly fitting stock.

Hi Bill, coincidentally I am working on the same project with an aftermarket stock. Did your customer not tell you where he purchased his stock? I bought mine from Macon gun stocks. My understanding when I purchase it was that it was roughly in letted and that fine-tuning would have to be done by the customer. Was it your impression that it would be ready to install? Thanks!

I've been a subscriber for several months and I like what you're doing. I've learned somethings and I agree with most of your techniques, but.... a rotary sander on a drill press would have taken about two minutes to contour the butt stock. I think because you have a mill and you worked at Ruger, your set in the concept that it is the best way. Unless you don't have the confidence, in your wood working skills, and I think you have the skills, it would have been easer and no tear out to sand it down with a drum sander. I'm not trying to belittle you, just trying to give constructive criticism.
