I’ve started telling the men who express sexual interest in me that I’m celibate. You’d be SHOCKED to learn how many people that immediately scares off. You’d be even more shocked to find out how many people try to change my mind and continually pressure me into having sex with them. It’s fucking EVIL.

Seeing situationships become the NORM and ghosting and lack of communication becoming more common than a healthy relationship is so disheartening. Older generations were often forced into monogamous relationships they didn't want, and now we have the other extreme, and they're both unhealthy!

I watched my college roommate go thru situationships for like 3 years straight.

Poor girl. Genuinely.

Those mf guys were not committed and she cried all the time because she wanted something more than just sex.

[Through sobs:] "I wish they wanted more than just my body!!! I wish they would love me! But...the sex is good enough for me to not break things off." – A real quote from her.

One of the guys shd brought around was a genuine piece of shit. He called her his "Egyptian Princess" (she's 100% white with really nice, tight curls, and is tan because she does soccer) and he was unwilling to drive 20 minutes to meet her for dinner.

Don't get me wrong, girls do it too. But those men she was situationshipping were actual pigs.

Honestly, The more you give away for 'free' the more they want. You give photos, they want sexy ones, you say good morning every morning, they want you to be available everytime they text/call. They will never make effort if you are making all the effort. It should be give and take. If you feel like you are doing the most, and they are lazy, Your gut is probably right.

My situationship rejected me and told me we are just friends, then proceeded to send me a valentines box with a selfmade card and jewelry, and keeps flirting with me… I try to view it as a platonic thing but its kinda fucked up to do this after rejecting me…

I got stuck in a situationship with my ex after we separated for about 7 months. I was under the impression we were working on things, but then he told me it may take, and I quote, 'YEARS' before he's ready to settle down with me again. That was my wake-up call to finally cut him off. I met my now-husband about a year later. I feel for everyone who feels stuck in their situationships and I hope you all get out of them. They just hold you back.

Both people want to test the waters but it seems to always end up with one person wanting to be in a committed relationship & the other person only ever wanting to see you as a backup option or side piece
