i swear what happened to nuance in society?!? bc i swear ppl act like other ppl are either sweethearts or villains not rlly realising that it’s somewhere in the middle and ppl are just in that grey middle anyways. this also applies to dating with how ppl will end up putting ppl to those standards, and when they don’t live up to it they’re horrible. we need to change up these expectations bc it’s just causing so much flawed mentalities in ppl and not having the nuance to be in the middle!

I see so much anxiety from folks about dating. They go on an app, finally work up the nerve to go in a date, maybe it goes wrong which skyrockets their anxiety. Next thing ya know, their coworker says "hey, is this you?" pointing to their phone. So then, someone who opted OUT of the scrutiny of content creation because they know they can't handle it, has all their worst fears confirmed, as thousands of strangers make fun of them.

Y'all are gonna mess around and force someone to force their own end, iykwim.

The rise of dating content stems from a breakdown of real life relationships in addition to chasing clout. I do think these storytimes can be great to let people who are struggling with dating know that it isn’t just them personally, but it does it blown out of portion when the audience gets overly invested and try to do things like find the person the story time is about. The way fans get so invested in these stranger’s lives is definitely parasocial behavior.

Honestly the people who post that content dont seem like they want to actually have a relationship and rather are just feeding off of the attention that stems from their retelling/ text screenshots. People constantly recording other people and running their likeness through AI and stuff too, just makes me not want to date at all, let alone go out and about.
