That's a common misconception, orb cults are actually very into community service and taking care of the environment. After all, planet Earth is the greatest orb of all 😌

“Do you know what caused the flood?”
“Waaaater”

10/10 joke, 20/10 delivery

I think it's funny that you felt like you "cheated" by wanting to add things that weren't randomly generated. The challenge wasn't a completely random game: it was running a game without prep! If you think of a good monster at the time, that's still within the challenge.

Also, I didn't know I needed a Neopets Pride tee shirt until now.

So cool that Travis Willingham was available to play in this session.

16:38 No Ginny, you didn't break your own rules there
The challenge was to make a game with zero prep. You didn't prep anything. You took the cues, your knowledge, and your creativity, and made things at the table.
You improvised at the table! Give yourself a cookie! You did it!

I've learnd the trick to a good No Prep game is that if you carry a sword people will say the game was so good  it was scary. Even the rules lawyer was quiet!

The bi-shadow goes hard
Happy pride 🌈💙💜🩷

2:32 “For me? 👉🥺” idk why this was really funny to me

Informing the players that things are improv'd definitely alleviates some stress when the RNG spits out something bizarre. It invites players to fill in the gap rather than question the gm to explain the  logic of the world.

Loving the, uh, b-eye-shadow. ^_^

I'm definitely an over-prepping DM and have learned over time that actually you don't need to write every possible outcome down on paper before you run one session :hand-purple-blue-peace:

FYI, your Starbucks probably put the appropriate amount of whip on your drink, it just melted before it got home.  Starbucks (and pretty much every other restaurant company and whip producer), use Nitrous Oxide (yes, laughing gas, just at significantly lower concentrations) in their whipped cream.  NO2 has the benefit keeping the whip from spoiling longer, but the downside that the whip will "melt" back into cream not too long after being dispensed.  Air-whipped... whipped cream will stay stiff quite a bit longer.  However, it will spoil much faster due to the whole, you know, oxygen-makes-things-rust thing.

I remember a writer say "when your book is 90% complete, it writes the remaining 10% by itself".

My point is that in this case, the random tables will give you the prompts to work with, and you connecting the dots with previous information is the story "writing itself". At first, most of the story is as empty canvas, but as you get more and more information, more and more things can be linked to previous information.

7:41 OMG, is that the son of Grog from Critical Role?

I think that the random rolls seem great for giving you the tools you need to build a story, but just like real tools, it takes someone with experience to use them and shape them into something beautiful. Clearly, as we all knew already, Ginny is a master story artisan.

The Grog Strongjaw is... strong with this one.

Just finished an entirely improvised campaign over discord. It went great.

Conjuration magic is lemony. Too late; random canon, now.

9:26 oftentimes, I haven't decided the plot twist until they suggest it in their paranoia

This is kind of like how Dwarf Fortress does it. it randomly generates lore, and then the player fills in the gaps with their imagination, which makes the random lore seem meaningful. The dev gave a talk about it at some convention or something. Might have been Game Developers Conference.
