I can bet a pinky on my left foot they will end the final episode with a flashback scene of young Alice and Rhaenyra talking about their bright future when Rhaenyra's on the throne. Since the writers made the whole show about their friendship it only makes sense to emphasise on the loss of this alternative scenario where everyone's happy and they are still besties.

There is no way The Battle Above the Gods Eye will not be in the middle of the season somewhere between episodes five and six. They will not cast out fan favorite Matt Smith until the series is about to conclude so they will most certainty rearrange how events happened in the book.

My prediction is if it's possible, the ending will end up with Aegon III stands in front of The Iron Throne looking sad, depressed and lonely with Cregan Stark as his Hand and since Viserys II is not being kidnapped by The Triarchy and going missing for years in the show, he's gonna be there to accompany his brother. They're gonna mirroring him with Season One Rhaenyra when Viserys announced that she is his heir infront of The Lords with people bowing to her but the difference is Rhaenyra was looking fearless and worried at the same time while Aegon III is looking depressed and totally broken.

They should have expanded Cregan’s role from the start. Fans care so much about the Starks. That’s how they can keep interest all the way to the end even with Rhaenyra and Daemon dying. Instead, they reduced Cregan’s role. They left out his bromance with Jace. They reduced the roles of all the survivors of the Dance except for Rhaena. Aegon the younger should be promoted to a main character asap.

The first season, focusing on Rhaenyra and Alicent, was good. The second season should have focused on Aegon and Jace, the third on Rhaenyra and Daeron, and the fourth on Rhaenyra and Aegon, and then subverted the formula the show followed until that point with their deaths, shifting focus to the remaining characters that were built in the background, ending with the Hour of the Wolf and setting up a Blackfyre series. Obviously, there is room for other characters to shine in this framework, as we saw with Daemon, Otto, and Viserys in the first season but maintaining focus on two major plots would have prevented the need to go "Lets show this side character doing nothing of importance for the 3rd episode in a row so the audience know they are still frozen in time until the next major event for them".

At this point, i won't be surprised if the ending shows Rhaenyra faking her death and running away with Alicent (who also fakes her death) while abandoning the rest of their children. Because why tf not? It's been all about their ridiculous love story that they never got to have, and no one asked for.

Very optimistic view of the ending but I reckon only 30% of this will happen. I think we run a serious risk of most of the Storming happening off screen. The Battle above the God's Eye is going to be fumbled like they have ever other big spetacle in the show. I think Alicent will get over Helaena's death very quickly as she is now effectively more evil than Cersei Lannister and will probably poison Aegon II. Absolutely getting young Rhaenyra & Alicent back in for a little scene. Aegon III will show up and just be this generic ass character, no sadness or depression (kinda like that random Prince of Dorne in GoT Season 8 finale).
