I never knew Pink Floyd had a movie till I read these comments!! 🤯 I’m gonna look for the movie, might even react to it. That’s NUTS!!!

The Wall was released in 1979 . The movie was released in 1982. This is not a video, it’s a scene from the movie based on the Pink Floyd iconic album.

Give yourself the gift of sitting down and listening to The Wall in its entirety - from start to finish. It's an experience you won't regret.

💯 This song is still relevant to today's education system but for completely different reasons. "Hey!  Teacher! Leave those kids alone!!"

Roger Waters - even as high as he was - was a goddamn visionary.
I have followed his work and activism most of my life.

To me this song has always been a battle cry to fight the power - to not allow yourself to be indoctrinated into the meat grinder of capitalism and/or the military and above all to think for yourself!!!

As another commenter said, do your mind the favor of listening to the entire epic album. Even if you don’t record a minute of it for your channel.
If you partake, smoke up and just vibe.
This piece of work, in its entirety, is a literal treasure.

The little boy is 'Pink', the poem that's ridiculed by the teacher is part of the lyrics to 'Money' a hit by Pink when he later becomes a rockstar, 'Another Brick in the Wall' is the imagination of the young Pink, in response to the teachers ridicule, again it becomes a hit for the rockstar grown up 'Pink'.

The Wall was a double album that told a single story in 26 songs. The album was made into a feature length movie. This is from the movie. Do yourself a favor and listen to the entire album, while reading the lyrics. You don’t have to react to it, but you will understand what a concept album can be. It’s impressive.

The line "just another brick in the wall" refers to schools indoctrinating children to all think the same as opposed to teaching them to actually think for themselves.

I was 14 in 1979...when this came out and it blew our minds. I know for myself and my friends the greatest impact and eye opening awakening was the following winter when John Lennon was shot.
Our school principal would not acknowledge the loss. She told the teachers to ignore the loss that we kids and even the teachers felt.
He meant something to us.
We were all shell shocked because back then things like this did not happen.
So the whole student body walked out...
And while outside...
We sang 'we don't need no education. We don't need no thought control'
We fully understood in that moment they were trying to make us another brick in the wall...

This was my 6th grade anthem and I am now 58y still love it

My father's first grade teacher beat him so badly for being slow at math, that to the day he died he would get the shakes just attempting to balance his checkbook. For people that lived through something like that, this song held special meaning.

You need to listen to the whole album to understand each song. The album shows so much of the trauma of WWII and it's after effects on young children in th UK.

Pink Floyd’s The Wall was a concept album that told a story. This is a scene from the movie The Wall starring Bob Geldof member of Irish rock band The Boontown Rats and the organizer of Live Aid.

The "rap" young Pink is writing, the poems that the teacher reads, are actually the lyrics of Money. Another great Pink Floyd song, from dark side of the moon, which was released in 1973.

Please do MORE Pink Floyd, I think you'll  find their music like no other.

This still brings chills down the spine.   They were so ahead of their time

This is a song that defined a large portion of a British generation. It doesn't get much better than this!

The irony of seeing this from a 70s British band, and watching what's happening today in England.

This is the era that was telling us about things to watch out for. Never did I think it would happen in my lifetime, but here we are living what they always sang about. You know what I mean.

This song came out in 1982. I was in High School. Very deep message and the video has so much symbolism.
