At the very end of the last track, “Outside the Wall”, Roger Waters’ voice says “Isn’t this where…”   and right before the very first track, “In the Flesh?”, starts, you hear him finish the sentence with “…we came in?”.

It’s a deliberate production choice that makes the album form a perfect loop, reinforcing the cyclical nature of the story — the endless building (and breaking) of “the wall” in the protagonist’s life. Pink Floyd loved these subtle touches, and it fits the theme of the character being stuck in repeating patterns.

If you play the album on repeat, it just flows seamlessly back to the start, almost like the wall was never truly torn down. They even joked in interviews that their albums were meant to be “round” so they never really end.

Vera Lynn is perhaps the most beloved of all English singers. She performed for the troops during World War II across the globe and her song "We'll Meet Again" is her most famous. Here is another bit of information that most people don't know. Vera died just a few years ago (2020) at the age of 103. She had been performing since she was 6 years old. I don't know of any other artist that performed for 97 years. Nice job.

The whole album is a masterpiece.

The movie will explain everything. A must.

Roger Waters doesn’t get enough credit for his vocal performance on this album. The amount of emotion he brings through is astounding

I'm 13 and it's 1979. I am doing my paper route Sunday morning. I pass Rainbow Records before they open. I see them stacking Pink Floyd the Wall on the shelves for the first time. No one had heard The Wall yet.............we got blown away.

Stacy, Pink didn't go to Jail. The trial was all in his mind.

RIP Rick wright

Watch the movie for us. **For yourself  as well. Having listened so thoroughly to just the words and sounds and music, when you pair it with the visuals and the storyline of the film, it will be amazing. Every line matters.

23:32 "Momma's gonna make all of your nightmares come true" Scary line that people miss very easily in this song. It is meant to be and interpretation  of an individual who lives a sheltered and abused life.

One of the masterpieces of all history of music.

I’m from Sweden. I remember being 12 years old when a girl came back to our class after living in London for two years with her family. She brought an album and said, “I’m in the choir singing on this record.” We got to listen to it in music class. It was - of course - Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2. I'll never forget that moment.

Roger Waters is, without question, a conceptual genius. Like him or not, Pink Floyd’s greatest works especially throughout the ’70s carried his edge, vision, and lyrical depth. The long-running fan rivalry of “Waters vs. Gilmour” is pointless. Without either of them, the magic wouldn’t have been the same.

Nothing proves this more than The Wall. Waters originally considered it a solo project, convinced the band had peaked and become a corporate machine. Influenced by what he was experiencing from their live shows during the Animals tour. His dissatisfaction began to grow from the disconnect he was feeling from the massive stadium shows crowds they were drawing.

The crowds were uncharacteristicly rowdy as if they were there for the event itself and not there for the music. By the end of the tour, his frustration boiled over most infamously when Waters spat on a fan. This event, along with other factors on the tour, inspired Waters to develop the concept for the album "The Wall".

Waters began to imagine a literal wall separating the band from the fans even entertaining the thought of using a “surrogate band” to see if the audience would notice. His sense of alienation would become a theme he wanted to explore in depth which he does with the character Pink.

The story follows Pink, a man shaped by loss and overprotection. His father died in war, his mother smothered him with Fear, and school crushed his spirit. Each trauma became a “brick” in his wall of emotional isolation. Seeking escape, Pink rebels by seeking dirty women, drugs, rock stardom but every path leaves him more cut off. When his music loses its meaning, he starts blaming everyone else, until the truth hits: he built this prison himself.

The “judge” delivers the verdict: Guilty. His sentence? Tear down the wall. Only by embracing emotional vulnerability can Pink find freedom. And when he does, the music swells with peace:

“The ones who really love you… make their stand…
after all, it’s not easy banging your heart against some mad bugger’s wall.”

Basically it doesn't matter if it one person or even a group. It is you and only you who must face that fear by exposing yourself to vulnerability. It is impossible to offer help unless you let that guard down. The message along with the music that supports it makes the Wall it into a timeless classic.

The Wall remains a haunting reminder that the fears we build to protect ourselves can become the very thing that destroys us.

I think Pink Floyd is the band with most masterpieces in rock history, Dark Side, Animals, wish You Were Here, The Wall. They are  unbelievable pieces of art in every detail. Songwriting, powerful poetic lyrics, sound, cover art.

I am 71 years young, grew up with Pink Floyd, one of my most favorite bands, love it reminder of younger days, thanks

What a journey it has been. You have become a real worthy fan. I was at the Pulse concert and as you can imagine, I have never experienced anything like I experienced that day. You continue what you do... Looking in your eyes, seeing you get all emotional,... That's what this is all about. You are the next generation's hope. Your reaction videos are so important. Thank you from an old Belgian guy.  👊🏼🫶

Don’t feel bad Stacey. I’ve been listening to this for almost 40 years and I’m still discovering new things every time I hear it. It may take a lifetime to fully understand it.

I saw Pink Floyd perform The Wall at Earls' Court in 1980. Unforgettable!
