Love you Dallin❤️

I remember being terrified about being shrunk. I came out the other end all back to normal.

The omnimover rode through The Living Seas and later became under the seas with Nemo and Friends.

To me, the omnimover is the most uniquely Disneyesque ride transportation system in existence.

Amazing video, the offhand disney joke took me out lmfao

I personally love the Omnimover ride system.  It gives designers precise control over sightlines and focal points, so guests experience each scene exactly as intended.  The steady, continuous motion also strikes a great balance, being slow enough to appreciate the detail in the sets, but consistent enough to keep the story flowing.  Another huge advantage is capacity. Omnimover systems can move a very high number of guests per hour, which makes them ideal for popular, story-driven attractions.  They’re also known for being safe, reliable, and relatively low-maintenance due to their continuous chain-driven design.  From an efficiency standpoint, the shared drive system can be more energy-efficient on a per-vehicle basis compared to individually powered dark ride vehicles since you’re not running a separate motor and control system in every car.  That said, individually powered trackless or rail guided vehicles offer more dynamic motion, faster speeds, sharper turns, and greater freedom of movement which can create a more thrilling or varied ride experience.  Overall, Omnimovers make a lot of sense for high-capacity, story-focused “E-ticket” attractions where consistency, throughput, and controlled presentation are the priority.

incredible video, shocked when i saw the view count. earned my subscription and i will definitely be watching the rest of your videos.

Oh I remember the first ride where they shrunk you down.  Enjoyed it because it's out of the heat, basically you could just walk right on, and it was slow and easy on the body (no motion sickness).

I loved the video!! The Peoplemover joke was hilariously unexpected lol

The Peoplemover still has a place in Tomorrowland and they really need to bring it back at Disneyland. A high capacity ride to get people out of the walkways is exactly what that land needs. A lot of the indoor parts of the track could be refurbished quietly without anyone knowing anything is happening (maybe it's going on right now). Then people will find out when they start working on the outside track. They just need an updated story to theme it to and provide new content on those indoor parts, which they could even do with screens/projection in certain parts. The only real issue they would have to deal with would be the queue for the ride. In my mind, they could reconfigure the 2nd floor outside part of the old Innoventions building as the extended queue. Then you build a bridge across to the platform, where they take out the thing on top and turn it into a covered queue (that they can then put some better themed decoration on top of). The stairs down to the loading area are already there and they just have to make the elevator accessible for wheelchair guests again.

It's definitely not as impossible as some people seem to think it is.

Someone tell me when Dallin gets here and watches it

They really want trackless dark rides to be the next form of the omni-mover.

I really love Mystic Manor at Disneyland Hong Kong. It came about because of cultural differences. There's genuine fear of ghosts haunting you in Chinese culture. So they switched up the story and now it's a manor where all the artifacts come to life. There's not as much detail as I think a tradition dark ride would have but it still feels incredibly ornate.

Symbolica at Etfeling theme park has the same energy and vibe.

Omnimovers are still my favorite kinds of rides and I LOVE high speed, high G force, inverted thrill-based roller coasters but there's nothing like the slow, contemplative pace of an omnimover ride like Haunted Mansion where you can take in all the intricate details. That's just the best!!

This was one of my favorite rides as a kid. I was so sad to see it go, even with the  replacement being Star Tours

If You Had Wings was cool at the time! The video surrounded you, and when you entered the airboat sequence, the chair leaned back and wind blew so you perceived the acceleration. And, it was free, we would stop there after we used up all our ride tickets.

In the ticket era of Disney World, If You Had Wings was a great way to get out of the heat and cool off. At one point in the ride, it simulated takeoff, and the cool air blowing over you was worth it. When burning through E Tickets got too expensive, you took free rides on the People Mover or rode If You Had Wings. In general, you spent more time enjoying the park and much less time waiting in long lines for rides.

NICE shout outs to Dallin's Offhand Disney!❤

What you said about capacity / throughput and their desire to sell Lighting Lanes is SO true and SO sad. It's the exact opposite of something Walt would do. It's a concrete example of greed and favoring money over guest experience and unfortunately that won't change unless people stop coming and that definitely doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon. That's why I give Universal so much credit for building new, high-tech rides like Monsters Unchained with amazing capacity.

I wanna see the Omnimover ride system used more often for more dark rides, including some new ones at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

I think in some ways you could call the vehicles on Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind a “spiritual successor” of an Omni mover style vehicle… it marries the thrill of a roller coaster with the view control of an Omni mover vehicle.
