Before Mission: SPACE, Disney had plans for an entirely different space pavilion at EPCOT - and it was truly bizarre. Because in 1996, Imagineers developed an ambitious proposal to transform the original Horizons pavilion into a futuristic experience that attempted to look beyond traditional space exploration and instead combine it with “speculations” about what might exist beyond our current understanding of the universe, blurring the lines between scientific discovery and human imagination.
