Keepin It Comic Full Story

Doctor Doom thought recruiting a broke young Spider-Man to take down the Fantastic Four would be easy, but Peter Parker had other plans. In Challenges of Doom Spider-Man #1 by Al Ewing and David Messina, the ruler of Latveria crosses paths with the wall crawler three times, and the last encounter puts Doom somewhere no hero has ever put him before. It's a fresh retelling of their very first meeting, and one big change to Doom's history has fans split. Let's Keep It Comic

It was, in real life history, the power and privilege of the Jester to insult and humble the King.

Doom manifesting in real life to beat up Spider-Man’s writers and the demon that also messed with Spider-Man

“You do not get to question Doom-“ In that moment, Doom genuinely was at a loss for words.

One thing I love about Doom's and Spier-Mans relationship is that Doom genuinely respects Spider-Man in like every encounter they have ever had.

God imagine if Marvel editorial got off their bullshit and not only allowed spider-man to have his marriage with Mary Jane back, but that DOCTOR DOOM was the key to getting it back.

Let me cook for the next part. The reason why Doom would do it is he learns that Mayday Parker is apparently prophesied to defeat/kill Mephisto which would most likely allow Doom to get his mother back.

Not only did Mephisto create a self fulfilling prophecy for himself but Doom, by helping Spider-man, ultimately ends up helping himself in the end. And if that ain't the most Dr. Doom plan ever I don't know what is.

Peter’s sense of humor is awesome.

Does anyone besides me recognize what Peter is doing here? It's a two-pronged method of dealing with Doom: using his brains (which Stark once remarked that Peter doesn't do enough of, though that wasn't said until later in Spidey's career).

1. Peter already knows that, if given the slightest opportunity, most villains will launch into the stereotypical villain monologue, which gives him time to think.

2. He uses the strategy of talking to much, made famous by both John Constatine and Doctor Who. If you allow either Constantine or Who time to talk, they're going to use that time to come up with a way out of whatever trouble they're in while causing their enemy considerable consternation. Spidey should do this more often. It would save him a lot of contusions and lacerations.

I see it more as Spidey reminding Doom of his primary goal.

I love how much Doom is projecting in this conversation. He's so egotistical, he cannot imagine that someone else is not like him, or would not want to be him.

People don't realize this is a flash back comic to the old days. This comic is a direct catalyst to doom switch up from goofy FF villain to big time take over the world cosmic schemer and spiderman is an inspiration for him

Also the next issue after is doom meeting dr strange to fight mephisto and him talking about his mother so spiderman might have been the reason for that story which expalins why mephisto has it out so hard for peter. Peter inspired a king to go box up the devil for the love of the game lowkey

BIG UPS TO MY BOY, SPIDER-MAN

doom and spidey have the craziest of relationships hes saved his life on multiple occasions and both have a lot of the same interests

Doom would work well in the destruction industry, he seems to HATE buildings.

@VicStrange9 1 day ago

He talked to Spidey for like 5 minutes and said "welp I guess I will indeed go to Hell and battle the devil". Maybe Spidey should replace Captain America as the motivational leader

@lordhirudo5311 1 day ago

I remember in Triumph and Torment that Doom talked about fighting Mephisto every year, so that might’ve been when he started doing it.

If Peter did join the Doctor, the new theme song would rock! “Spider Doom Spider Doom lands on a building with such a BOOM! Is he strong? Listen Buds, he can now bench 100 TONS!!”

@coyotepup4 2 days ago

"With great power comes great responsibility." Is what Spider-Man should have wrapped up with. That would have really hit Doom close to home. He has great power, but what is his great responsibility beyond petulant battles with Reed Richards over who is smarter?
