A nice overview of the series! I would have like to have seen my name in the descriptions "credits" as "inker" but, I get it... inkers are left out a lot. Secret Wars was a deadline nightmare, so being able to do all the pages on all issues was not possible. But I did the majority of inks on all 12 issues. :-)

I am 53yrs old, I was 13 when this came out...and as a comic collector this was one of the biggest events (in my) world. The biggest stars in the Marvel Universe banding together, heroes you never saw on the same pages before, fighting each other and along side each other. SECRET WARS (to me) was bigger than any movie, I kid you not when issue 12 finally came out I was sad it was over. This was my DYNASTY, DALLAS, KNOT LANDING...this was my soap opera.

Spider-Man beating the entirety of the X-Men is still one of the best moments in Marvel History.

Honestly I don't see Galactus as a super villain I see him as a force of nature

Rumor has it THIS might be what the next MCU phase is based on.

Forgot how badass this one is. Everyone is talking about the 2015 one but nobody ever gives the original enough credit.

The moment when Xaviers super secret specially trained Mutie squad gets punked out by a guy who can’t keep a steady job and has zero training in anything at all.
I miss these kinds of comics.

"He ain't gonna reach out and touch nobody, unless he can find a pay phone!"

Haha what a quintessentially 80's joke.

"I am a prince of the Gods! I do not pledge my allegiance to many of mortal stature! This man I will follow through the gates of Hades!-Thor referring to Captain America
Thor squashed that whole thing in an instant and he was right.
