This reaction really ties the channel together.

It's a League game Smokey

During filming they made Sam Eliot do lots of takes when finally he asked what they were looking for they said oh you nailed the first take but we’re just enjoying watching you perform so much 😂

"That's just, like, your opinion, man" is a statement that can be used several times a day.

You can watch this movie a million times and it never gets old.

The replay value of this film is off the charts.

Hope your reaction is good... and thorough.

"Yeah well, you know, thats just like, your opinion man!"

Yes, KINGPIN (1996) is a bowling comedy. It's hilarious!

"I am the Walrus" written by Lennon. Walter meant Lenin.

PS Hoffman's performance, often relegated to the background, is absolutely priceless.  His non-verbal reactions to what the other characters in the scene are doing is absolute hilarious.

The Jackie Treehorn intro has to be one of the greatest into scenes for any character ever

“Hell I could get you a toe by 3 oclock this afternoon” 😆

I think the pomeranian thing is an intentional joke, like how Dude calls the ferret a marmot.

This one of the most quotable films ever.  There are a thousand lines in this film that could be used in a variety of situations on a daily basis. What a great film!

49:43   --"You're not dealing with morons here," has to be the most underrated line in this movie.

Walter is one of my favorite movie characters ever

My dear old friend, Texas country singer/songwriter, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, played Smokey in this movie. The Coen brothers have always been big fans of his music, loved the way he looked, so they asked him to play this part. He's not an actor and only appeared in another movie as himself. So, at the time, we were all so thrilled when we heard Jimmie was going to be in a movie and a Coen brothers movie at that. At this time, the Coens  had shot their debut movie in Texas, along with other projects shot here.

Jimmie actually shared very little about shooting the movie, as he wanted his role to be a bit of a surprise to his family and friends. He did tell us that his scene was with Bridges, Goodman and Buscemi. They rehearsed the scene a lot, but Jimmie Dale was still so nervous when it came time to shoot it. After the movie premiered, we had all kinds of other questions for him. This was back when you couldn't just look this stuff up on the internet, as the internet was still rather new.
We asked Jimmie how much of the scene was improved, and he told us NONE of it. Every pause, every curse word, everything each actor said, was in the script. And because he could, he stuck around and watched them shoot other parts of the movie. As talented and capable as the cast was, they didn't improvise one scene. They all followed the script so closely because they all said the script was so perfect as it was.

It was kind of a running joke on set, about Steve Buscemi talking very little, having very little lines. The Coen brothers purposely did this. And reason being, his character in "Fargo" was so vocal and talkative, they wrote the part of Donnie, specifically for Buscemi, where he would say hardly anything.
Granted, over the years at very strategic times, we have quoted Smokey's lines and other lines from that scene, while being around Jimmie. He hasn't been able to escape it. Jimmie could never understand the huge following he got from being in this movie, but grew to embrace it.
Last year, we had a big party, celebrating Jimmie Dale's 80th birthday. The title of the birthday party was "Mark It 80!"

Coby, your family friend and legendary actor, Harry Dean Stanton and Jimmie Dale Gilmore were good friends for a long time. Harry very much looked up to Jimmie for his music and singing style. In fact, the two have very similar singing styles. And Harry loved playing guitar and singing, every bit as much as he did acting. So, there were times before this movie and after, that Harry would be in Austin. It was kind of a sanctuary for him. And we'd all get together in a songwriters' circle, each taking turns playing and singing songs. It was always fun, as Harry would sometimes sing one or two of Jimmie Dale's songs, in front of Jimmie Dale. It was the greatest form of respect. Harry smoked clear up until his death. So, he and I would always bum cigarettes off each other during these songwriter circles. He was such a character, as is Jimmie Dale. And we'll continue to honor Jimmie, but continuing to quote this movie when he's around. He''s a great sport about it!

The character journey of The Dude's car is amazing.

I will love John Goodman forever because of this movie. What an absolute tour de force of comedy movie acting. Amazing.
