Tibetan fraternal polyandry: Brothers often share one wife to keep family land undivided. Sex is typically scheduled—sometimes a signal like a shoe or scarf left at the door indicates when one husband has private time with the wife. The others sleep elsewhere that night. Children are raised as belonging to the whole family, and paternity is often not emphasized.
Himalayan and some South Asian groups: Similar rotation systems exist, with the wife managing who sleeps with whom on which night.
Modern consensual polyandry (in Western countries, within polyamorous communities): These are usually based on explicit agreements rather than tradition. The wife may have separate sexual relationships with each husband, or group sex may occur, depending on everyone's comfort and boundaries.
