What a good haul! Not only that, I do agree with what you think. Leather, when properly cared for, can last a lifetime. Ancient cultures tried to utilize all parts of the animal as a way to honor their life, not just the meat. And if it's good for the environment and you can afford it, go for it!

Comment for engagement: I'm a vegetarian and I 100% agree with your logic behind leather purchases, Scotty! Ideally such purchases could be second-hand, but even if not, the items will last you a lifetime. I own several thrifted leather jackets from the 80s, which means they are older than me lol and they're still in excellent shape. While faux leather, aka plastic, lasts such a short while and is just horrible for the planet, people and animals.

Sheath = soft cover for typically a smaller blade
Scabbard = hard cover for a larger blade like a sword
Frog = the leather thing you guys got to hang the sword (usually in its scabbard) from the belt

Love love. I totally agree with leather. Not letting any animal byproduct go to waste is just common sense, and leather is a very sustainable material. Loved that fur piece too!

You two make such a good team!
Love when you both have something to contribute on a diy

Also, bold of you to assume we dont want longer content

I fully support using as much of the animal as possible. They're good investment pieces, especially for folks like you who will USE THEM and care for them properly.

You could try a leather conditioner on the green mug strap! Also you two are the cutest couple you remind me of me and my husband! we’ve been together over 20 years and I know you two will too!

That reversible capelet look soooo gorgeous. Fur AND leather? My heart can't take it! And neither can my wallet, but I can drool over it. :D

That cape is so absolutely gorgeous!!! I have a huge love for leather goods because they can last for a lifetime if they are well maintained! I used to buy a new pair of faux leather boots every single year because I felt bad but it was getting ridiculous how quickly I'd need to replace them. I swapped to high quality leather boots and I've had the same pair of boots for 6 years and they look like they're brand new after I condition them! It was so much fun seeing your husband's picks and its always the sweetest seeing you two in a video together. Thank you both for sharing! 🥰 💚

Goals for next season are always fun to plan. I am glad I got to meet you. See you next season.

Hi, just noticed with the leather mug holders:
The green one that is super rigid looks like the leather is unsealed in the back, with the natural fibers showing through. With a nice leather conditioner applied through the back you could soften up that leather quite a bit. Leather either gets really hard like that when you bake it, or after you dye it if you don’t condition it. Over time that piece will crack and break, so conditioning will be needed with any leather you have, but I would look into a neatsfoot oil for the green one, really work it in there all around the piece, let it sit and dry in, and it should be a lot nicer.🤗 hope that helps

Husband did good with his purchases….. Very cool and practical ❤

@Paeoniaes 1 year ago

Yea! He got a hella good haul too! And it’s always nice to see him on camera too! Ooh the fur cape is pretty cool! And it’s reversible so nice for many different outfits!

But yea I agree with leather. It will last you a lifetime when you take care of it, and I also like supporting small businesses or buying them second hand. I’ve thrifted two nice leather belts for my dresses. And get compliments on them all the time bc of the cool detail on them! ❤The fake wooden pistol he got is so beautiful! Those metal details! I def need some mug straps after seeing his.

Making some notes after watching this video and your Ren Faire videos. I’m so excited if i have time to go to the Ren Faire next year! Thank you y’all! ❤️

For the loose snaps: take a pair of pliers and squeeze the circle on the bottom of the snap to deform the shape very slightly. You can make it very slightly square, and then try the snap. If it still isn’t strong enough, you can do the same thing to the top part. Make small changes and test as you go, but that drink strap can definitely be saved!

You guys got some amazing goodies! As long as they serve you well and for a long time, totally worth it

@m.maclellan7147 1 year ago

Adorable couple ! Your husband rocks a kilt, AND the more viking looks.
Plus, he obviously loves you 😊
Love seeing it ❤

That Axe looks amazing! You guys did a great job on it. I totally didn't guess it wasn't actual metal.

If I won the lottery, I wouldn't tell people, but there would be signs.
