Imagine what this challenge would be like on the NES version. Rangers didn't have Barrage. Instead, they had access to the first few levels of white magic.

Barrage damage:
Ranger level 1-20: 0.3x4=1.2
Ranger level 21-70: 0.4x4=1.6
Ranger level 71-99: 0.6x4=2.4

"A tortoise? Hey fellas, a tortoise! Well, ooh la di da, Mr. French Man."
"Well, what do you call it?"
"A land turtle!"

1:40 A pokemon ranger reference? Of all the obscure things, why? 😂

fun Junji Ito reference at 2:50

Green Ranger is infinitely superior to the Red Ranger.
EDIT: Goldor fits pretty well with this/that implied Universe. nice story you've weaved here.
EDIT2: damn that was over fast. i know its an older game with less content but still. just wow over here.

Go go Onion Rangers! Do do do do!
For the Barrage-o-Meter, I'm gonna go with... 413.

I think Medusa arrows can proc petrify. Might be of debatable value, but it is a thing.

I'm surprised that the Barrage-O-Meter stayed below 1,000 given how grindy the end of FFIII is enemy HP-wise, but I guess even a backdated Barrage is still going to be quite strong.

+1 for In the Mouth of Maddness refrance.

I'm sure that nothing bad will possibly happen.

I'll guess, 1750ish barrages

Edit: Damn, I guessed wrong. Thanks for the video, Wes. Ranger is pretty powerful, just not as interesting as Ranger from V. Still, barrage is the best thing for him to have though

From my FFIII experience, it's gotta be high 900s or atlest 1500. Those last five bosses have some big HP pools

My humble guess is 727. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a lot higher than that though.

Was thinking no more than 1000, but given you started counting it up on screen I was able to guess closer to 990 due to run time left on the video.
edit - close enough, happy with that

He did it

6:55. I'm predicting 2700.

I see you Wes, updating all your thumbnails

Should try these on the 3d version, they have some differences.
