Thab beginning with a meditation on game quality is perhaps one of the more ominous omens of this series, I mean besides the horse racing simulator having a jumpscare.

I remember asking for this game for Christmas but my mom couldn't find it in the shops so she got me Starfox 64 instead lol.

"This has a lot of plot for a Mortal Kombat game."

Oh, my sweet summer child.

I've been waiting for this one for a long while.

This cartridge was so hard for me to find, but I genuinely enjoyed it... I didn't do the secret ending yet.

15:33 hilarious how Sub Zero has the upper body strength to climb ropes all day, but not the lower body strength to jump and grab that rope. don't forget to train legs.

This game walked so that Smash Bros' Subspace Emissary could....walk a bit faster.

its a shame the n64 doesn't have the cheesy FMV cutscenes like the PS1 version, that adds a lot of charm to the game and reminds you that it's just a troll game that doesn't take itself too seriously despite the grim/dark setting.

I remember wanting this to become a spinoff series of games, giving each major MK character their own unique story. Imagine MK Mythologies: Raiden... MKM: Scorpion, etc.

Subzero falling off the platform and doing that "AAAAHHHHHhhhhhh" noise lives rent free in my head ever since I witnessed it on the PS1.

That and MGStar getting soft locked by an electric fence. That was glorious.
