By then I can spend 9 years driving, 7 years in the military, at least 7 years married, and 4 years drinking and smoking (based off my understanding of US laws).

TRUETRUETRUETRUETRUE we love nyara being right all the damn time! We can't just shout trans rights, we should always shout out trans rights, trans joy, trans living, trans experiences etc. We need to make our stories and lives heard!!!

It is genuinely infuriationg to see people argue that other people's human rights should be debatable, yet the moment you criticize them they pretend to be the victim, say being angry at their statement is somehow "unjustified" and that their right to free speech is somehow repressed unless you "agree to disagree"
Yet these very same people would have a nuclear meltdown if they were treated 1/10th how they treat other people.

I was 7 when I first told one of my friends that I wanted to be a girl, which resulted in relentless bullying. That was 1998. Not a single adult had said anything about trans people to me. The first time I ever heard anything about trans people was when I was 10, watching an Oprah episode about a "woman trapped in a man's body" and it's one of my core memories because it was the first time I had ever heard anyone else articulating how I felt. I didn't transition until I was in my 20s, *because I didn't know it was an option*, and I'll tell you right now, the only reason I survived until then was pure distilled dissociation. I had to basically stop thinking like a human to deal with living through puberty. No one who has ever said "you should just wait until 25" would have survived what I went through, I am certain of that.

I've spent a lot of time in online trans communities. I've spoken to and read the opinions and life stories of hundreds, if not thousands, of trans people. I have literally never, not once, seen a single person describe being manipulated into being trans. I HAVE, however, seen a lot of trans people who were forced or manipulated into repressing and denying their identities for years, if not decades, which always does harm. Every single time. The only regret that I've repeatedly seen trans people expressing is that they didn't transition sooner.

I didn't get to have a normal childhood or teen years. If you care about protecting children, if you care about other people at all, support trans rights.

The fact we still cant agree that this is a human rights issue is crazy to me. Like no, we're not going to agree to disagree on slavery. No we are not going to agree to disagree on letting women vote. Why is it that every time we move to give people human rights, we have to start from the beginning as if we learned nothing from any previous movements

Waiting until 18 would already be a 6 year wait for me. I found out at 12 that I was trans. Now I'm 15 and, welp, 4 more years to go because apparently I'm not an adult until 19! (But let's not talk about how I could get a nose job next month if I wanted to)
And I went through puberty at 9. How are people supposed to convince me that at 9 I was old enough, mature enough, and my brain was developed enough for me to go through a permanent and life altering process that destroyed my mental and physical health? I never wanted it to begin with and had no idea the full extent of it. And yet at 15, I'm apparently too young, too immature, and my brain's not developed enough to go through puberty when I know the full extent of it and actively want it.
I know I'm young, but it's embarrassing being the only boy in my class with a high voice. It's embarrassing to have boobs and have to actively hide them every day. How many other boys have to do that? Not that many.

I know I'm young, but I've figured out how to navigate a healthcare system built to be against me and I've found loopholes. If I can't do that, I know exactly how to get testosterone through other means. None of this legislature would stop me from transitioning, I would instead just do it through alternative means. Which is risky, but I can do it.
But what I can't do is wait another decade.

My childhood was ripped away the second I hit puberty. The only way for trans kids to be kids is for us to have age appropriate medical care and social acceptance. This includes society accepting us. Otherwise, we are not truly allowed childhood.
