WHY AREN'T YOU SUBSCRIBED?

Worst part is that bed rotting is bc of depression, yet I’ve seen so many people make it seem like it’s a normal every day occurrence when they’re just chilling on their beds doing nothing. It’s actually so messed up that I’ve started to see a pattern in social media with people knowing damn well they don’t have any issues while trying to normalise symptoms/behaviours from real mental issues. It ain’t cute nor helps people realise how impactful it is for the people who actually go through it.

The tiktok trend where you dance, flip the camera to someone “ugly” is a horrible trend that never should’ve happened. People are so cruel. And usually when they flip the camera its the cutest, sweetest looking people ive ever seen too

Edit : LOOKS SHOULD NOT BE WHAT MATTERS. “Oh they look like this” “hey they look like that” THEY LOOK LIKE A HUMAN BEING💀 if you did or are planning to do this trend, dont. enemy, stranger, or ex, doesnt matter. Itll ruin their mental and POSSIBLY PHYSICAL HEALTH,
basically for short, DON’T BE STUPID.

The bedrotting trend was so gross… I was bedrotting after my father’s death for almost four years. I had maggots in my sink with how bad it was and these people who were just showing the snacks in reach and stuff just made me feel worst. I was luckily able to get out of my bedrotting phase but remembering that trend always makes me sick

“GET UR A— UP!” kenji yells at me as i lay into bed for the 100th time today

As someone who bedrots, its usually actually a symptom of burnout and depression. Its weird when i see ppl say "bed rot" and its just them watching a movie with a snack because half the time bedrotting is really just laying in bed and slowly going into a stupor and only getting up to pee or rarely eat, some people with worse depression don't even get up at all. Its so weird that ppl always turn self h4rm into a trend every new year theres a new sh trend, first it was the wrist thing, then the thigh thing, then skin picking and now its crashing out and bedrotting like omg...

The bed rotting trend was genuinely disgusting… my sister had really bad depression and she would never getting out of bed, but people making a trend out of it is so vile. I really can’t believe people thought that making bed rotting a trend was a good idea.

Seeing people make trends of  mental issues is so fcking sad, I was so depressed to the point I skipped so many days of uni and had no energy to get out of bed, or even eat, I feel better now (still depressed but not as bad I used to be) and eat so well that I gained weight and feel healthier, and also insomnia ain’t no joke, I hate having it, bc I have burnout so many times, to whoever out there is very depressed and has insomnia, you’re not alone and you shouldn’t feel ashamed of smth you can’t control, and I hope everything will get better for all of you <3

The bedrotting trend was/is absolutely horrible. When my father passed 10 years ago, I was bedrotting for 5 years. The struggle was getting OUT of bed, brushing my teeth, showering, eating, etc. It’s not just laying in bed on a Sunday, that’s called relaxing.

0:14 you dont need to call me out like that (ive been on yt for 20 hours)

I don’t care what anybody says, Kenji is SO emotionally intelligent!

The “bed rotting” trend was just people being depressed. Everybody liked how quirky it was to be depressed and in bed for a few days until actual depressed people started showing how getting out of bed is hard and how their rooms deteriorate with their mental health, then nobody liked the trend anymore because they couldn’t romanticize it

WE LOVE YOU KENJI FOR SPEAKING OUT AND BEING AGAINST AI

17:35 kenji finna be out here like chase from dispatch

7:54 I search what you said and this is what I got: It can mean you are experiencing overwhelming emotional distress, a need for comfort and security, or are reverting to a primal, protective instinct. The uncontrollable crying and fetal position are both responses that can signal a feeling of anxiety, stress, or a desire to protect your vital organs. While it can be a stress response for people with past trauma, it's also a natural, protective posture that many people adopt when feeling vulnerable.

1:15 Kenji… 😭😭😭💀

i have a whole issue with the ''bed rotting'' shit because it was co-opted from people with depression, but when people started showing the less glamorised, sterile, neurotypical version of what ''bed rotting'' actually is, people jumped to call them disgusting and lazy, as if these aren't people with mental health issues! a lot of people dont do this because they want to, but because their body literally wont let them get up. the lady saying that this person ''obviously has issues'' but goes on to criticise them without any understanding or empathy _ people acting surprised out mouldy dishes or messy floors, as if depression doesn't cause people to kill themselves, not just live in a dirty room.

I myself am diagnosed with depression and bed rot. My room is filthy and infested and no matter what i do i cannot bring myself to get myself up and clean i have 0 motivation. My hygiene isnt great either and my eating habits suck. And seeing all of this turning into a trend makes me SO mad, “omg i just bedrotted!!” brother..are we deadass 💔

4:49 kenji WE are the problem 😭

I've been bedrotting for over 10 years and still going. It is definately not comfortable. Your room becomes a blissful cage and you become a living zombie. It is a living hell covered in a pretty filter. Whats worse is when you bedrot from genuine depression, people start to believe your lazy (the trend only making that worse.) If anyone thinks to try this, please dont. Days become miserable and pointless. If anyone like me is still trapped in this stage of depression, it will eventually be ok. Life is scary and stressful, but a river of beauty awaits for you. You will feel joy, sadness, alive. Keep going one step at a time. ❤
