"Is a dream a lie if it don't come true or is it something worse?" In my opinion one of the best lines ever written. The song is based on the life of his one year younger sister Virginia and her husband Mickey. The difference is, they are still married, living in New Jersey.

That is why he is called The Boss!

Bruce transcends what the average people's lives are like he is the people's poet ❤

"No wedding day smiles, no walk down the aisle
No flowers, no wedding dress"...brillant!!...cheers from Uruguay!!!

This is my favourite song by Springsteen. the lyrics are so good, and he is so intense when he sings

Next you've got to do this performance from his early days

"Rosalita (Come Out Tonight) (Phoenix, 78) (from Thrill Hill Vault 1976-1978)" it's on You Tube

The song is about his brother in law and sister -- what a hard start they had.. Getting pregnant at 17 and unmarried was a HUUUUGE, life-changing scandal. No more chance for school... the families would march the couple (they were 17 and 19) to the courthouse for a quick, quiet, legal ceremony to make sure they were married as soon as possible... no party, no celebration. And then work at whatever blue collar job they could get to support the coming family. Absolutely honorable work, no fooling, but just sucks the dreams right out of you.

“How are we only now turning on to Bruce Springsteen!? “ Where have you been lol

He not only singing, he's living the lyrics that's why he in a defiant stance.

The tears were for his sister of whom this song is based. She knew it the first time she heard it.  She and her husband are still married.

Born To Run live is a good start to appreciating the Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band experience. I saw them last in 2016. They played 4+ hours and Bruce never left the stage 🔥🔥

Thunder road makes me cry anytime I see him perform it.

Bruce is amazing, I've seen him thru the decades, there is nothing like a Bruce (The Boss) 3-4 hours of the best rock show ever.
The Guitarist is Steven Van Zandt a musician and an actor, he was Silvio Dante in The Sopranos

'The River' was always one of my favourite Springsteen songs, such a beautiful riff. Springsteen is an absolute legend, been listening to him for years, had quite a few of his albums. There so many other songs I love including 'Born to Run', 'Glory Days', 'Thunder Road' and 'Hungry Heart'. Another one of my favs is 'The Ghost of Tom Joad', a folk rock song which Springsteen wrote in 1995, the live version with Tom Morello in 2009 is epic. It's based on the classic novel 'The Grapes of Wrath' by John Steinbeck, a story about the Great Depression in the US in the 1930s, Tom Joad is a character from this iconic book. Thanks so much for the reaction, Anthony.😊👍

Nobody put more energy into live performances than Bruce.

...That Harmonica at the start and throughout the song is the perfect death whale of dreams destroyed by making major life choices before you're ready for the consequences they bring.

He was also in USA for Africa - We are the World.

I think it's one of the best songs there is.

Bruce Springsteen is one of the finest songwriters in the history of rock and roll. His music has changed as he's aged but his lyrics are still some of the most compelling and articulate that you will find. My favorite album of his is Darkness on the
Edge of Town and that is also the tour I saw him on. That was by far the best concert I have ever seen (... until I saw Prince) and I've seen decades of fantastic rock and r&b concerts. I'm not sure if this video you're watching will illustrate what a life-changing performer he was back then, as I stopped your video midway to write this. Like the greatest rock stars before him, when he arrived Springsteen was the culmination of the history of rock and roll that preceded him. He stood on the shoulders of their greatness. I will always bow down to Bruce.

Truly good harmonica players are far & few between. They can pull your soul from its depths with sounds both primal & spiritual
