Ihadtko change the steering lock on my MX-5 from the lock there is a alloy srip that turns the switch the alloy always snappets so it's another lock from the car breakers

I have a mx5 and the ignition switch is turned by a allominium connected to the key barrel the aluminium breaks so you remove the steering lock undo the switch at the rear turn the switch with a screwdriver and put the key in to release the steering lock

That wiring looked pretty cobbled up I don't understand the need for after market super stereo systems in these cars . i prefer the simple sound of the engine, and the joy of taking a drive without electrical fires

Nice detail on the electrical I could have used prior to replacing mine on a US 78 b. I replaced the break off screw heads with regular cap screws as well, good tip. They were metric in my so-called Lucas switch.

Totally understand originality being desirable but I took mine out and put a standard key switch in the radio console. Fact the car is manual transmission in this day and age will discourage most thieves. 😂
