Check out this Philomena reaction next! https://youtu.be/aL6WT4vFa3M

My favourite - not in this collection - is when she says something like "...after that America became known as the Land of the Free, which must have come as a bit of a shock to the slaves..."

“Do you like ABBA?” “I love ABBA” from the most serious and toughest looking guy cracks me up every time 😂👍

The actress playing Philomena said in an interview that they know they're being interviewed for a comedy show, but they don't know anything about the questions that will be asked.

She also said that they start the interview by asking some serious questions to lull them into a false sense of security before switching to the insane ones.

Apparently one interviewee got so angry that he had to be calmed down by the production team.

2:00 just the questions are scripted lol, the answers are not. The experts answers are 100% genuine, yes they do know it's comedy lol

Diane Morgan started working in comedy doing standup in 2005, and this character of 'Philomena Cunk' debuted in 2013 in Charlie Brookers 'Screenwipe.' She was born in 1975, which means that she was 14 when the Belgian group Technotronic released their techno-album 'Pump up the Jam.'

the nuke guy who just went with ABBA is a legend

That part when she fake cried when talking about nuclear warheads is so underrated. In my line of work (I work with funerals) I have seen so many types of grief and talked to many that grieve for the loss of their loved ones. I understand if there are people who think she over do it or cringe when she fake cries but Philomena came close to fool me in that scene. To me that is scary good acting!

Her reaction to learning about the continued existence of nuclear arsenals is the most appropriate I've seen in quite some time

"Can you imagine what it would feel like to be sucked off through a hole." That was absolutely brilliant. Poor Dr. Cox. lol

Watching the uncomfortable guests is gold. Trying to honestly answer the question without laughing, being annoyed, or offended. It's so great, and she is a master deadpan comedian.

Philomena is amazing, her delivery is always spot on. And no, it's not scripted, but some experts just catch on quicker than others.

That 19 out of 20 people took me by surprise…the logic was impeccable lol

They are aware it's a joke. But their answers are not scripted, nor do they know what questions she's going to ask, or what she's going to say. She's a well known comedian/actress here in the UK so it'd be hard for them not to know it's a bit anyway!

“Do you like ABBA”? “I love ABBA”. The two funniest lines in modern comedic history. LOL.

She visited Shakespeare’s school and explained that his school days were not so boring, because he did not have to do Shakespeare!

There are some throw away lines that get lost. People lose their minds to the “female king”, but sleep on clever bits like “a fork in the crossroads”. The writing in this series is top tier

According to an interview, the experts know the interview a joke, they just dont know what shes gonna say.

I love watching Philomena Cunk and think that Diane Morgan is brilliant but let’s not forget the writers of these clever, witty shows. Charlie Brooker, Ben Caudell, Joel Morris and Jason Hazeley. I salute you. 🫡

Philomena Cunk is a characterisation by the actress Diane Morgan. Philomena Cunk was written as a series of 5 minute clips, by Charlie Brooker, for his show Screenwipe. It proved to be extremely popular and was promoted into s separate 30 minute show on its own. You will know Brooker, he also wrote Black Mirror.
