Knowing that Randy was going to end up liking them without knowing Randy's character is hilarious.

“General teachings in the church don’t talk about the hat,” is an objectively hilarious statement.😂

Ex Mormon here. This episode was absolutely hilarious in every way!

"The episode evolved from personal experiences of creators Parker and Matt Stone, who grew up in Colorado. Growing up in Colorado both Stone and Parker often visited Utah, and both had Mormon classmates. The scene in which Stan is invited to dinner by the Mormon family was inspired by Parker's first girlfriend in high school, who was Mormon and invited him over for Family Home Evening. They found the religion ridiculous but hard to parody due to the good-natured attitudes of many Mormons."

I remember meeting this very Christian lady about 15 years ago she said her sister was a Mormon and i said oh like south park 😂 and i explained to her what happened in this episode and she was shocked at how much detail i was giving and then she asked "you saw all of this in a cartoon?"

the whole family knowing an instrument is hilarious. i had a mormon friend in grade school and literally all  of their family played multiple instruments. so many positives to this lifestyle but so many negatives at the same time.

"Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb" has lived rent free in my head since i first saw this episode! hahahaha

Fun fact about the disclaimer before every episode.  It has prevented Matt and Trey from being sued multiple times lol, because before each episode they tell the viewers that they shouldn't even be watching the show.

"HELLLLO STAN!" - The Baby Mormon 🤣🤣

Seems Heidi is smart, smart, smart, smart, smaaaart 🎵

there’s another south park where everyone is in hell, except the mormons. obviously this is a joke. the announcer in hell said “the mormons were right.” LOL

I think seeing this episode when I was way too young is something that kind of shaped me as a person. I will always have respect for those who have religion and aren’t hurting others, or pushing it on others .

I learned a lot from South Park growing up. I think it made me a kinder , more open minded person. Which is pretty ironic because most people think it’s a “mean” or “hateful” show .

Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of South Park, also made a Broadway musical called The Book of Mormon. It follows two young Mormon missionaries who get sent to Uganda and end up facing challenges they were never trained for. The show mixes sharp satire with big musical-theatre energy, and it became a huge hit, winning 9 Tony Awards.

As someone who grew up in a predominantly Mormon area, it's important to add that the initial friendliness from Mormons changes drastically and turns to exclusion once they fully realize you aren't interested in converting. This also carries over to children and their experience in school. Utah also has an extremely high rate of sexual assault, including against children per capita.

The creators of South Park knew a lot of Mormon people when growing up in Colorado. The film they made, Orgazmo, features the lead as a Mormon. They also wrote the musical The Book of Mormon.

Nice reaction video. I'm a non-mormon who grew up in Utah Valley, Utah. I found it difficult to determine who genuinely wanted to be my friend, vs someone who just wanted to try to convert me. Probably why I approach friendship a bit cautiously to this day.

Nobody who smiles all the time should be trusted under any circumstances.

12:03 this is the moment in the episode where i finally got the dum dum dum dum dum joke lol and taking so long to realize it made me feel dum dum dum dum dum

Ex-mormon here, and i agree with your mother. She is  completely correct it is easier to brainwash one person at a time when recruiting.

The two creators grew up in Colorado. They grew up around all of this. Their research was basically their life lol.
