Setting out on this passage I knew this cold front was coming. But originally I planned to tuck in somewhere in the Bahamas and anchor out while I waited for it to pass. However, once at sea I didn't want to stop sailing. And by using the cold front I would be able to push pretty far east in the direction I needed to go. After it passed I would still have good winds to continue east. So I decided to ride out the storm and sail through the toughest conditions I've ever been in.
The seas were very steep, the forecast called for 15 foot seas with a period of 8 seconds, and winds around 40 knots.
Fortunately, Dacia is a very strong sailboat, and we were able to sail through it without anything major breaking.
I hope you enjoy watching be do some heavy weather sailing!!

Thanks for watching!
