I like Perth 😊 every time I am visiting Perth from Sydney I feel so relaxed, everyone is very friendly and so much to do ! Perth is perfect place to explore and escape the noise of big city’s
Born and bred in Perth. Its not like it was 20 years ago. I really miss the 90’s. Not overpopulated, cost of living was low, public transport was safer, roads were busy but not choccas.
Ive been to every major city except Hobart and Pertb still is most liveable.
I never understand how people say Perth is a dull City. There is plenty to do and the nightlife is actually in Northbridge behind the CBD. And Fremantle is an awesome little Old town too. People have this perception like it's a separate City down a freeway for an hour. And Perths City beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world. You should go down in the mornings, the water looks like a tropical paradise with sugar white sand and turquoise water.
Senior lady here from Perth, I've travelled extensively thoughout the world over many years and visit the Easten States usually twice a year. There are many wonderful places around the world worth visiting but Perth is where you want to live.❤
Yep, as a Perth resident, it is not the most exciting place for tourists. But as a place to live, it's wonderfully peaceful and safe. If you're still here, my main recommendation would be Rottnest Island. Do a day trip, get the morning ferry and the last boat back in the early eve. On the island a lot of people use bikes to get around, but I personally prefer the Island Explorer bus that runs every 30 minutes and does a circuit of the island. So you can hop on and off as you like and explore some different places.
If you want to meet some kangaroos up close and personal in a relaxed open environment, your best bet is Caversham Wildlife Park.
Tourists all seem to love Kings Park, which is right by the city centre. I think it's the largest central urban city park or something like that. Great views and good to explore.'
Fremantle is good to visit, it's the harbour region. There's a maritime museum and a really good market that's open Friday-Sunday, and great seafood by the water from Cicerellos.
I moved here 3 years ago from Melbourne. I don't think I'll ever leave. I love it here. Every single day, I can't believe I get to call this place home. Luckiest people on earth.
The sad reality of Perth and Western Australia is that it produces nearly 50% of the entire country’s material exports yet not much investment goes back into the state compared to New South Wales and Victoria which see higher federal investment and federal parliament representation in general. This is why people in Western Australia jokingly dislike people from the east. Western Australia has always been a powerhouse of industry, mining and all around funding for the country with little in return
Love seeing my city through tourist eyes. Perth is definitely a quieter city, but there's still so much to see and do. I've travelled a lot and always love coming back to Perth. Nothing beats the community and lifestyle here ❤
I am a Melbournian, so can vouch that Perth is not a super tourist city like Sydney. But it is vastly superior in life style to my city, beautiful as it is, and hugely superior to Sydney too. If I lived in Perth, I'd be grateful that tourists are attracted to our largest cities, welcome as they may be, but they clog up the place! Look at the Australian Open crowds, an extra million making the centre of Melbourne a disaster zone for locals.
Perth is much more than its downtown, for a city that spreads itself along the coast for 150 KM , the central downtown becomes less relevant to its citizens, especially when we have a number of other downtowns such as Joondalup , Fremantle and Mandurah that provide the same services as Perth. In my experience there is a huge difference between visiting an area and living there and personal likes. For me I love visiting Melbourne over Sydney any day
