The glasswork on that door was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. A Scottish architect, designer and artist who lived from 1868 to 1928. Even today, glasswork is still made to his flower pattern designs.

The whole world pretty much has electric kettles. Theres a certain western ( supposedly first world) country that has weak voltage and no kettles.

In Britain, hotel rooms typically have kettles with complementary tea, coffee (regular and decaf versions of both), milk and usually a couple of small biscuits.  Freedom of choice.  If hotels in America are only giving you coffee, you must immediately rise up against your oppressors.

The world is shouting 'STOAT' at you ;)

The mega mallow egg was an April Fools joke by Tunnocks - the OPs heart was broken because Tunnocks aren't actually making them.

I met a customer a few months ago, he and his wife were very upbeat and positive, we got on very well he then told me how he has to plan his life around hospital visits to test his blood every few weeks, It turns out he is living with blood cancer and has regular tests and treatments. Now Ten years after diagnosis and he looks fit and well. The prognosis average is Five years. We both agreed how lucky we are to have the National health service. It gives hope and quality of life that would not necessarily happen in many countries

Weasels are "weaselly" recognisable while stoats are "stoatally" different! (I'll get my coat)

" did that pigeon run into that wall and knock it down"   is he winding me up. Watch Tyler all the time but sometimes I feel like I need to give him a good shaking!

The door is not 'normal' but not so abnormal that I would feel the need to comment if I was walking past (beyond, maybe "that's a nice door").

Our postman often leaves packages in the blue bin (paper and cardboard) and usually leaves a note to say that

We have nicknames for quite a few jobs in the UK.

Postman = Postie.
Electrician = Sparky.
Bricklayer = Brickie.

As a few examples.

In uk here you get coffee and tea in hotel rooms

it was an Intercontinental Ballistic Pidgeon....

17:35 it's a stoat, sounds like they misspelled it, and yes it's an indiginous animal kind of like a large weasel, they are carnivorous, their coats change colour with the seasons. They usually live in abandoned rabbit burrows, or tree hollows, they eat rabbits, birds and other rodents - shrews, voles and mice.

I would imagine the food bin was empty…possibly clean…one of the many new bins delivered by the council.

In the UK, we have stoats and weasels - the way to tell them apart is that one looks stoataly different, while the other is weasel to spot.

Waitrose are "upmarket" so the misspelled cake would cost plenty.

Tunnocks teacakes are a well known snack food. But looks like their marketing thought it was a good idea to enlarge it into an easter egg. Complimentary drinks in hotles are usually tea AND coffee.

That door isn't like a work of art. It IS a work of art.

I was sitting on the beach a while ago when someone walked past and said "that smells like it would be really good for my cancer" so I invited him to sit down and have a toke with me. We had a right laugh
